Job Purpose
Timely , safely & Cost effective delivery of Engg.( MRO/ Capex / Project ) items , Refractory , castable , Grinding media,radio active , & Imported Containers from supplier / Port / Unit to all the Units of Ultratech Cement and ensure that right Quantity and Quality material is timely & safely received at respective sites.Develop & Maintain a reliable, nimble and competitive transport network.
Assist DH to optimize freight cost through negotiation strategies.
Job Context & Major Challenges
The Cement Business of Aditya Birla Group is the largest in the country. The grey cement business has total 12integrated manufacturing locations and 7 grinding
units. The units belong to UltraTech Cement Ltd. The business is further expanding new integrated plants and grinding units are under commissioning. Infrastructure is one of the focus areas for Indian economy. This has attracted many Cement majors to India. ABG too recognized this fact, and decided to have ambitious growth plans for its cement business. This growth will come from organic as well as inorganic forays.There are four central cells,
viz., Technology & Research Centre, Production Planning and Budgeting, Central Procurement Cell and HR Cell. The Central Procurement Cells have been developed
with a view to provide strategic lead and support to improve the Business, competitiveness in terms of quality & cost, knowledge integration, synergy in procurement and remain a major player. The position of plays a vital role in the cement business by Major Challenges1. Timely Delivery of Material to site
2. Preparation of annual transport rate contract & work orders on case to case movement of ODC and heavy ODC material from all over India to our Cement units.
3. Tracking the movement of ODc and heavy ODC material & other urgent / shutdown material as required .
4. Inland transportation from various air/ sea ports like Kandla,Kolkatta,Chennai , Delhi etc. to all Cement units1. Timely Delivery of Material to site
2. Preparation of rate contract all over India
3. Tracking the movement of goods
4. Inland transportation from JNPT to all units

KRA1 Accountability -
Timely and safe delivery of all Project /Capex / MRO consignments All 30 sites and running project sites
1. Ensure timely nomination of transporter
2. Provide relevant size and weight data for nominating correct vehicle.
3. Ensure all documentation if complete by tracking with transporters and CHA
4. Coordinate with CHA and Transporter for smooth handover of import consignments
5. Follow up with transporters for critical deliveries
KRA2 Assist for execution and negotiation of annual rate contract with Transporters i) To invite offers and ensure commercial terms are at par before negotiation
ii) Negotiate for all sectors based on L1 basis
iii) Consider past performance of transporters before giving final contracts
iv) To enter rate contract with transporter for all Engineering, Capex & refractory items to plant
KRA3 Implement SAP /IT Tools for transport orders i)To make use of SAP for order generation, data analysis
ii) To implement Vendor portal usage by Service vendors
