Job Summary: The Performance Metrics Associate works directly with the Business Performance team and supports the work to understand, interpret, and provide guidance on metrics and analytics. This role will perform the majority of the data loading, manipulation and reporting work within the Business Performance SQL database to enable the Business Performance team to produce the metrics reports used to enable the business to make decisions based upon key performance indicators. Job Duties:

  • [50%] Load and manipulate data and execute SQL queries to update database tables for monthly reporting. Will require proactive measures to ensure data sources are updated in a timely manner and in alignment with current processes.
  • [20%] Management of database to ensure clean and compliant data. May require editing and updating SQL queries as data and current process is changed.
  • [10%] Assist in updating business reports both via frontend dashboards and through backend code. This may be in PowerBi/Tableau/Spotfire, Excel, SQL or SharePoint as the business dictates. Will be working closely with senior team members in updating.
  • [10%] Assist with writing new SQL code to improve and iterate on current process. This would include new SQL queries for data sources and reports not currently in production.
  • [10%] Other reporting and or data manipulation and reporting as required to fit the needs of the business.

Experience - Minimum Required:

  • Minimum of three (3) years of professional experience, ideally within a Clinical Research environment
  • Strong experience of working with SQL databases (loading, manipulating and exporting data)
  • Ideally candidate also has experience with writing SQL queries. Able to write statements involving joins (inner, outer, natural, equi), aggregate functions, indexes and views.
  • Ideally candidate also has experience of working with Toad for Oracle, Python and/or Spotfire
  • Able to resolve key data issues involving the quality and consistency of data for analytical purposes
  • Strong ability to work within a project team
  • Strong planning, organization and problem solving ability
  • Strong oral and written communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work to deadlines and effective time management
  • Ability to work with all levels of personnel
  • Good analytical and problem solving skills
  • Works efficiently and effectively in a matrix environment
  • Excellent computer system knowledge and advanced MS Excel skills
