Job Description

Pearson India is growing as a leader in the Indian Education/Learning industry today with an aspiration to reach - 30 Million in the next 3 years. Looking for a dynamic leader with 15+ years of track record in the publishing industry with exposure to both print & digital product development to lead portfolio.

JOB SUMMARY :

- Responsible for the management of Portfolio team, the portfolio strategy, development and delivery of the products - both print & digital. S/he will also be responsible for supporting the Sales team by providing consultation for their success in achieving numbers.

- To collaborate with multiple stakeholders to ensure that Pearson India products are of the highest quality, and work with the management as necessary to achieve the results required.

Specific duties and responsibilities:

Portfolio Development:

- Manage the portfolio, including strategy development, planning, production, editorial to maintain an excellent standard of the product

- Strategy development includes competitor study in terms of pricing & GTMs, conducting surveys to understand the future requirements etc.

- Set and manage product development budget

- Monitor and develop the production and delivery methods and make improvements/rationalizations where appropriate

- Ensure timely release of all products

- Support the Sales & GTM by working with Sales & Marketing teams. Sales support includes developing products that are based on market demands, conducting presentations & demos to clients, providing inputs to the Sales team on competitor strategies etc. Objective is to work closely to help the Sales team to achieve the Portfolio targets.

- Keep an eye on market developments & create products that are futuristic & give an edge over competition.

Strategy:

- Develop strategies along with Sales team for the commercial success of the Portfolio

- Working with the editorial team and with authors and freelancers to plan editorial strategy, commission high-quality content

- Work collaboratively with all departments to develop appropriate strategies to meet Pearson India's strategic aims

- Define the digital assets and assessments that will create a impact on the success of the product

General:

- Monitor in-house processes and resources and make improvements and/or rationalizations where appropriate

- Act as point-of-contact within the Pearson India for Product planning

- Team management. Should have the capability to work closely with the team members & extract the best contribution from them for the improvement of the Portfolio.

Specification Essential Desirable:

Qualification & Experience :

- Graduate/PG in any discipline

- Commercial acumen and demonstrated results in building monetization products for the Indian market.

The candidate should have demonstrated experience in harnessing external partnerships and/or co-creating relevant GTM models with the internal sales teams, to build a strong and sustainable revenue pipeline for the business

- Experience in managing complex print & digital products across many internal departments & with external suppliers

- Experience of setting up budgets & monitoring the same

- Experience in strategic planning & execution - Experience in working with Ed Tech

- Experience in digital assessments creation and delivery

Skills & Abilities :

- Excellent written and oral communication skills

- Able to negotiate and handle contracts

- Ability to assess market opportunity, conceive and produce appropriate products

- Ability to initiate and lead strategic business planning

- Ability to present ideas/arguments in an objective manner

- Good understanding of digital media & experience in digital content development

- Excellent attention to detail

- Able to prioritize tasks and work to tight deadlines

- Contacts with good authors in the industry - Understanding of digital platform requirements
