Determines, specifies and evaluates the viability of complex hardware features and structures and ensures that software and hardware designs interface correctly. Designs framework for particular functions. Defines, documents and tests processes for inclusion into technical platforms, subsystem specifications, input/output and working parameters for hardware and/or software compatibility. Identifies, analyzes and resolves subsystem and/or SoC design weaknesses. Influences the shaping of future products by significantly contributing to the architecture used across design families. Provides multilayered technical expertise for next generation initiatives. The PCIe Solution Architect will be responsible for Intel FPGA PCIe interface/solution architecture and will provide technical leadership to the rest of the team in these domains. The role covers specification generation, specification negotiation and definition of the PCIe interface to meet Gen5/6 and data mover requirements in Server, Cloud and virtualized market segments. The architect will be responsible for working with the PCIe, Ethernet and IPU architects to define the overall solution. The architect will require a broad knowledge in PCIe interface specifications and use cases to make trade-off analysis between Hard-IP or Soft-IP or Hybrid as a better solution option. Protocol IP design knowledge, and the ability to comprehend global data movements in the context of an FPGA is a plus. Qualifications Minimum qualifications are required to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.Minimum QualificationsBachelors Degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering with 12-16 yrs experience or Masters Degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering with 10-14 yrs experience on ASIC Knowledge of high speed serial protocols PCIe/Ethernet, Packet processing, Experienced in FPGA hardware IP design, verification, Micro Architecture and Architecture. Knowledge of Computer/SoC Architectures Experienced with UNIX, Hardware Description Language (Verilog or VHDL) and scripting languages (Python, Perl, TCL) Excellent presentation and communication skills (verbal and written) Excellent organizational skills to prioritize and balance the needs of multiple customers Strong cross-site teamwork skills along with the ability to work independently Excellent analytical/debug skills and ability to proactively and independently solve issues. Proactive self motivated and quick learner Ability to multitask and work in a dynamic environmentPreferred Qualifications In depth knowledge of Verilog System Verilog FPGA design FPGA design software and experience in working closely with customers understanding their systems and providing optimized solutions, will be a plus.
