Department Description and Role Background

CIB - JPMorgan Payment Operations - Bangalore Command Center - Monitoring - Associate, The Control Room Associate will provide a world class business monitoring, alert management, and escalating P1 incident related matters for Banking Operations. The next few years will be an exciting and dynamic time for Banking Operations as we migrate to a new state-of the-art global payments system, lead the industry in Intraday Liquidity management, and ramp up global monitoring solutions across Globe. The Control Room has an exciting part to play within the Global Command Centre to meet those challenges and in its own evolution of Business Activity Monitoring (BAM).

Key roles and responsibilities:

  • The primary responsibility of this position is to provide monitoring and maintenance of various application infrastructures.
  • Act as a single point of contact for the Line of Business and external service providers for all applications and connectivity related issues.
  • Initiate incident engagement with LOB Management, Production Support and other Technical support groups to remediate and resolve incidents.
  • The role involves close coordination and working with other Control Room operations sites to ensure business goals and objectives are met.
Specific Role & Responsibilities
  • Oversee Monitoring of Systems, Links and Transmissions.
  • Monitor alerts in Business Alert Management (BAM) or other monitoring tools
  • Identify and report business/client/technology impacting incidents which warrant escalation to the Incident Manager
  • Engage with LOB Management, Production Support and other Technical support groups to resolve and remediate alerts and incidents.
  • Engage all Partners for incident resolution and communication - Service, Product and Technology teams
  • Notify upstream and downstream impacted operation managers of business impact.
  • Initial escalation of incident to the relevant senior manager operations manager
  • Participate in root cause analysis reviews
  • Advance the automation of Command Center functions
  • Identify opportunities for strategic improvement or mitigation of business interruption and other risks
Work Environment
  • The Command Centre has a follow the sun model but may require some work to happen off-hours via remote access and mobile phone.
  • Position requires heavy interaction with IT teams including developers, information/data security, networking, system administrators, and IT operations.
Skills Required / Qualifications
  • Excellent communication, presentation (both oral and written) & influencing skills
  • Ability to work well under pressure
  • Proven experience to deliver effective escalation
  • Leverage subject matter expertise in driving conversations and/or influencing decisions/direction with Business /stakeholders
  • Knowledgeable of banking functions, specifically, in one or more of the following areas: Payments, Liquidity, Sanctions, Cash Account Management, Fraud, Risk and Controls
  • Ability to manage multiples priorities and prioritize workload accordingly to meet key deliverables
  • Flexible with shifts and night shifts. (24X7 )
  • Mandatory Saturday and Sunday working.
