Job Summary:

Responsibilities/Duties

This is a specialized position that provides quality control (QC) and scientific support to Contributing Scientists and/or Principal Investigators (i.e. Anatomic or Clinical Pathologists) in the production of pathology reports. Activities include: reviewing pathologist generated data and pathology reports for accuracy, completeness, and/or structure; generation of anatomic pathology report tables from applicable reporting systems; inclusion of tables in pathology reports; responding to applicable quality assurance inspections; finalization of pathology reports; aid in hosting and setup of onsite peer reviews for client pathologists; shipping of slides to clients for peer review pathologists if peer review location is offsite.

Essential Job Duties:

This individual is responsible for learning to assist Labcorp anatomic or clinical pathologists (contributing scientists/principal investigators) on technical aspects of the histopathologic evaluation and reporting of the study by gaining proficiency in the following essential job duties for the applicable test facility:

Provides support to pathologists (Labcorp-hired onsite, offsite, remote, adjunct, or independent) for drafting pathology reports

Provide QC review of pathologist-generated data for completeness and accuracy to the report, to the protocol-requirements, to applicable SOPs, and/or departmental procedures

Provide QC review of pathologist-generated report for accuracy to the data, to the protocol-requirements, to applicable SOPs, and/or departmental procedures

Generation of anatomic pathology report tables from applicable data collection/reporting systems (e.g. Tox Reporting) for inclusion in anatomic pathology reports

Inclusion of clinical pathology generated tables in the clinical pathology reports

Provide reporting templates (e.g. report shell) to pathologists

Provide support for client peer reviewing pathologists

For onsite client peer reviews:

Aid in hosting onsite peer reviewing pathologists

Provide peer review data packets, as necessary

Provide organized slides

For remote client peer reviews:

Inventory, organize, and ship slides to peer reviewing pathologists, for remote peer reviews

Provide peer review data packets, as necessary

Other:

Learn proficiency in specific software used in study conduct or reporting (e.g. Microsoft, CMS, Pristima, Tox Reporting, etc.)

Experience:

Minimum Required:

At least 2 years, preferably in toxicology, clinical, or CRO environment.

Willing to work in the 2nd shift working hours

Knowledge of GLP and applicable regulatory requirements is desired.

Computer proficiency, with ability to master PC-based software applications including Microsoft Office Suite programs and specialized data acquisition/analysis/reporting systems is desired.

Ability to accurately read, record, and communicate information; follow written or verbal directions; high attention to detail; excellent organization skills; ability to prioritize workload and problem solve with little or no direct supervision is desired.

Education/Qualifications/Certifications and Licenses

Minimum Required:

Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree or equivalent experience. Degree and/or experience in technical writing, document production/publishing, and/or science preferred.
