Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled and experienced Patent Attorney to join our legal team. As a Patent Attorney, you will play a crucial role in protecting our intellectual property rights by drafting and prosecuting patent applications, conducting patent searches and analyses, providing legal advice on patent matters, and assisting with patent litigation when necessary. You will be responsible for guiding clients through the patenting process, working closely with inventors, researchers, and business stakeholders to identify and protect valuable inventions and technologies. Position Responsibilities:
- Conduct patentability searches and analyze prior art to determine the novelty and patentability of inventions.
- Draft, review, and prosecute patent applications before domestic, the U.S. Patent Office and international patent offices.
- Collaborate with inventors, engineers, and technical experts to understand and document the invention details accurately.
- Conduct patent infringement analysis and prepare opinions on the validity and enforceability of patents.
- Assist in patent portfolio management, including conducting patent portfolio reviews and developing patent filing strategies.
- Monitor and evaluate potential patent infringements for enforcement of patent rights
- Collaborate with outside counsel and manage relationships with external patent attorneys.
- Stay updated with relevant laws, regulations, and industry trends related to patents and intellectual property.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience working as a Patent Attorney, preferably in a law firm or corporate legal department.
- Must have drafted patent applications filed in the U.S. Patent Office
- Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) or equivalent degree from an accredited law school.
- Must have written patents applications for e-filing in the USPTO
- Strong knowledge of patent laws, regulations, and procedures, both domestically and internationally.
- Demonstrated experience in drafting and prosecuting software and hardware patent applications across the IT technical fields.
- Ability to conduct comprehensive patent searches and analyze prior art effectively.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex legal and technical concepts clearly and concisely.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with keen attention to detail.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams and build relationships with stakeholders at all levels
