US Patent Attorney

- Advises other functions and managers using a broad range of legal skills to advance the organization's commercial agenda.

- We are currently strengthening and expanding our Global IP Team located at MAERSK's Technology Center in Bangalore, India, by searching for a US Patent Attorney/Agent with proven IP experience, technical and social skills, and a strong commercial mindset.

We offer:

- The position is anchored in MAERSK's Legal Department but will have a global scope and reach as the internal IP focal point. You will report to the Head of Global IP, Simone Frattasi.

Key Responsibilities:

- Drafting patent applications

- Handling US prosecution

- Claim charting and infringement/invalidity analysis

- Drafting and handling administrative proceedings before the USPTO (EPRs, IPRs, etc.)

- Providing FTO opinions

- IP harvesting

- IP training

We are looking for:

- As the ideal candidate, you will have a Ph.D. or M.Sc. in any fields of engineering (preferably, software engineering, life science excluded), computer science, physics, or similar, combined with being a US Patent Attorney/Agent.

- You have at least 5 years of experience as a patent attorney in-house, in IP consultancy firms, in a Patent Office - ideally a combination of two or more of the latter. Experience with patent litigation and US trademarks law is preferred.
