Job Summary:
As an Editorial Assistant in the Journal Department, you will support the editorial team in managing the publication process of academic journals. Your role will include handling manuscript submissions, coordinating peer reviews, communicating with authors and reviewers, and ensuring that articles meet quality and formatting standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage manuscript submissions and track their progress.
Coordinate with authors, reviewers, and editors throughout the publication process.
Assist in organizing and following up on peer reviews.
Proofread and format articles according to journal guidelines.
Ensure deadlines are met at every stage of the publishing process.
Maintain accurate records of submissions, reviews, and decisions.
Prepare accepted articles for final production.
Respond to queries from authors and reviewers in a timely manner.
Stay updated with journal policies, ethical standards, and editorial practices.
Skills & Requirements:
Good written and verbal communication skills.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
Familiarity with academic publishing processes is a plus.
Proficiency in MS Office; experience with submission management systems (like ScholarOne or Editorial Manager) is an advantage.
Degree in English, Communications, Publishing, or a related field (preferred).
