Job Description

Packing Supervisor - Roles and Responsibilities in a Frozen Food Processing Plant1. Supervision & Operations Management



Oversee the entire packaging process to ensure smooth and efficient operations. Ensure packaging machines and equipment are functioning properly. Monitor daily packing schedules and meet production targets.

2. Quality Control & Compliance



Ensure that all packed products meet quality standards and specifications. Inspect packaging materials for defects or contamination. Follow and enforce food safety and hygiene protocols (HACCP, FSSAI, ISO, etc.). Maintain proper temperature control for frozen products during packing.

3. Workforce Management



Supervise and guide the packing team, including workers and machine operators. Assign tasks and ensure productivity among the workforce. Conduct training on hygiene, safety, and proper packing procedures.

4. Inventory & Material Handling



Maintain inventory of packing materials like trays, pouches, cartons, labels, etc. Coordinate with the warehouse team for material availability. Minimize wastage of packaging materials and finished goods.

5. Documentation & Reporting



Maintain records of production, rejects, and downtime. Prepare daily reports on packing efficiency, wastage, and issues. Ensure proper labeling, batch coding, and documentation of packed products.

6. Safety & Hygiene Compliance



Enforce personal hygiene and PPE (gloves, masks, hairnets) for workers. Ensure that the packing area remains clean and sanitized. Follow proper waste disposal methods for packaging materials.

7. Coordination with Other Departments



Work closely with production, quality control, and cold storage teams. Ensure packed products are transferred to cold storage without temperature fluctuations. Communicate issues like machine breakdowns or material shortages to management.

Requirements for Packing Supervisor in a Frozen Food Processing Plant1. Education & Experience



Education:

Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Food Technology, Packaging Technology, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.

Experience:

2-5 years of experience in food packaging, preferably in a frozen food processing plant. Experience with packaging machinery and cold chain management is a plus.

2. Skills & Knowledge



Strong knowledge of food safety standards (HACCP, FSSAI, ISO 22000, BRC, etc.). Understanding of packaging materials, labeling, and batch coding. Ability to operate and troubleshoot packing machines. Knowledge of FIFO (First In, First Out) and GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices). Strong leadership and team management skills. Basic computer skills for documentation and reporting.

3. Physical & Work Environment Requirements



Comfortable working in a cold storage or frozen food environment. Ability to stand for long hours and supervise multiple packing lines. Willing to work in shifts as per production requirements.

4. Other Requirements



Good communication and problem-solving skills. Attention to detail and ability to minimize wastage. Ability to handle pressure and meet production deadlines.

Pay: ₹10,540.74 - ₹25,000.00 per month
