Conduct comprehensive vision tests including refraction, visual acuity, binocular vision, colour vision, etc.
Screen for ocular diseases or anomalies (e.g., glaucoma, cataracts, retinal issues) and refer patients to ophthalmologists when needed.
Perform pre-operative and post-operative evaluations under guidance of ophthalmic surgeons.
Prescribe and fit spectacles and contact lenses, advice on lens care.
Use diagnostic tools & equipment (slit lamp, ophthalmoscope, tonometer, retinoscope, etc.) accurately and maintain calibration & hygiene.
Maintain detailed and accurate patient records (clinical history, test results, prescriptions).
Educate patients on eye health, preventive care, proper usage of corrective devices, and follow-up care.
Collaborate with other departments (e.g. Retina, Glaucoma) to support clinical work, e.g. performing screening camps or vision centers.
Assist in outreach / community eye screening programs if required.
Stay up to date with latest developments, new technologies, and practices in optometry & eye care.
Qualification :
Diploma or B.Sc Optometrist Preferred
