oPlan, organize, and control daily production activities for GRP/FRP hand lay-up processes.
oEnsure adherence to production schedules, output targets, and delivery timelines.
oOptimize manpower, materials, molds, and equipment utilization.
oCoordinate with design, quality, procurement, and dispatch teams.
Process & Technical Oversight
Oversee hand lay-up processes including:
Mold preparation and release agent application
Gel coat application
Glass fiber (CSM, woven roving) lay-up
Resin mixing, impregnation, curing, and demolding
Trimming, finishing, and assembly
Ensure correct resin systems (polyester/vinyl ester/epoxy) and catalyst ratios are followed.
Drive process standardization, SOP implementation, and continuous improvement.
Quality Assurance
o
Ensure products meet drawings, specifications, and customer standards.
Implement and monitor quality checks at each stage of production.
Handle internal and customer quality issues, NCRs, and corrective actions.
Coordinate with QA team for audits and documentation.
Health, Safety & Environment (HSE)
Enforce safety practices related to handling resins, chemicals, glass fibers, and tools.
Ensure compliance with PPE usage, ventilation norms, and MSDS guidelines.
Promote safe housekeeping and 5S practices across the shop floor.
Manpower & Team Management
Lead, train, and supervise supervisors, technicians, and shop-floor workers.
Conduct skill development and training for hand lay-up techniques.
Monitor attendance, productivity, and discipline.
Foster a culture of teamwork, accountability, and safety.
Cost Control & Efficiency
o Monitor material consumption, wastage, and scrap.
Control production costs through yield improvement and cycle-time reduction.
Support budgeting and cost-reduction initiatives.
Planning & Coordination
Coordinate with procurement for timely availability of raw materials, consumables, and tools.
Support new product development, trials, and process validation.
Provide regular MIS reports on production, quality, safety, and manpower.
Qualification:
Diploma / BE / B.Tech in Mechanical, Chemical, Plastics, or Composite Engineering
