PAP5 -New Project Purchaser

We are hiring a New Project Purchaser with a strong background in Electronics, Electrical and Mechanical categories to join the Schneider Electric Solar and Storage team in Bangalore, India.

What will you do?

Contribute to Make/Buy and Design/Buy analysis to have early supplier involvement on projects. Bring supplier market knowledge through co-development & innovation.

Guide R&D in component and supplier selection to align with the Category SOC Strategy and Technology Standardization Management (TSM) guidelines.

Collaborate with R&D in the early stage of product design to ensure product designs are optimized for manufacturability, lowest cost and best in class quality.

Cost reporting of products in NPD phase including estimating the cost of components in concept phase.

Achieve cost reduction at every stage gate to bring market competitiveness to product.

Reverse Engineering of competitor units and perform should costing.

Support R&D and OCP Procurement team in multi-sourcing & QVE activities.

Support Industrialization team in smooth transition of new products from design to full-scale production

Ensure RFQ, cost finalization, sample development, part approval in close coordination with OCP team. Support in securing parts procurement for prototype, pilot & mass production as per target dates.

Ensure that category choices fit with project needs and deploy regional and global category strategy within the project. Challenge & Influence SOC when required.

Dare to disrupt by bring supplier market knowledge and innovation into projects.

Involve in negotiation of all purchasing terms and conditions with suppliers including contracts for strategic parts and components.

Qualifications

Bachelor\'s degree in Engineering (Electronics /Electrical / Mechanical / industrial)

5+ years\' experience in Procurement/ Costing / Component Engineering

Knowledge of residential energy products including solar inverters, batteries, EV chargers, smart electrical panels, UPS, Industrial Electronics products etc.

Good knowledge in understanding Component and raw material data sheets, product drawings, Engineering requirements etc.

Expert in Microsoft tools, especially in Excel.

Knowledge on Mechanical, Sheet Metal, Plastics manufacturing, tooling etc is desirable

Good communication skills to effectively describe and understand complex topics.

Ability to take direction from multiple sources, prioritize and multi-task under pressure

Ability to think with a global mindset, working with an international culturally diverse team where you will foster trusting relationships with colleagues
