Key Responsibilities

:

Network & Firewall Design & Architecture:

Lead the design and deployment of secure, scalable network architectures for data centers, branch offices, and cloud environments. Architect, configure, and maintain firewalls (e.g., Palo Alto, Cisco ASA, Check Point) and related security appliances. Design and optimize VPN infrastructure (remote access, site-to-site, DMVPN). Implement advanced routing protocols (OSPF, BGP, EIGRP) and redundancy (HSRP/VRRP).
Security Management & Incident Response:

Manage perimeter security including firewalls, IDS/IPS, DDoS protection, and URL filtering. Lead investigation, analysis, and resolution of complex network security incidents. Define and enforce enterprise firewall rule sets, NAT policies, segmentation, and zero-trust strategies. Collaborate with the SOC for threat detection and vulnerability remediation.
Network Operations & Optimization:

Oversee monitoring, performance tuning, and optimization of networks and firewalls. Perform root cause analysis (RCA) for critical issues and recurring incidents. Plan and execute firmware, OS upgrades, and hardware refreshes for networking and security devices.
Documentation & Compliance:

Maintain detailed network diagrams, configuration baselines, and operational runbooks. Support audits and compliance initiatives (PCI-DSS, ISO 27001, SOC 2, HIPAA). Conduct periodic risk assessments and create mitigation plans.
Leadership & Collaboration:

Act as a technical mentor for L1/L2 engineers and guide them in daily operations and project execution. Work closely with application, DevOps, cloud, and security teams on integrated infrastructure planning. Contribute to network/security roadmap, capacity planning, and strategic initiatives.

Education:

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

Certifications (Highly Preferred):

Cisco CCNP/CCIE, Palo Alto PCNSE, Check Point CCSE, Juniper JNCIP/JNCIE CompTIA Security+, CISSP, or equivalent security certifications

Technical Expertise:

6-10 years of hands-on experience in enterprise network and firewall administration. In-depth knowledge of: Firewalls (Palo Alto, Cisco ASA, etc.) Switching/routing (Cisco, Juniper, Arista) VPN, NAT, ACLs, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, STP Network segmentation and zero-trust security models Familiarity with security tools (SIEM, NAC, DLP, WAF, ZTNA).

Soft Skills

:

Strong leadership and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently and lead technical projects. Excellent verbal and written communication. Strong documentation and planning ability. Comfortable working in fast-paced, mission-critical environments.

Work Environment

:

Full-time, with occasional on-call support for high-priority incidents. Hybrid or onsite model based on business needs. May involve travel to remote offices or data centers.
