Join our innovative Networks team Our Edge Platform team takes ownership for planning, building, maintaining, and operating our global platform. We design, develop, and deploy critical technologies including the hardware, software and network infrastructure that provide the technical underpinnings for all of Akamai's products. Our team ensures consistent availability and performance for our customers. Partner with the best As a Network Engineer, you'll work closely with internal and external organizations on new installations. You will be responsible for configuration of unicast and anycast routing on high-end routers. You will have a key role in the development and advanced troubleshooting in a multi-vendor environment. As a Network Engineer II, you will be responsible for:

• Installing, configuring, and maintaining Juniper and Cisco routers.
• Configuring and debugging complex peering relationships via BGP (policies/route-maps) as well as high-capacity data circuits.
• Building/testing/designing automation tools (including Bash scripts, Python programs, Slack bots) and work closely with network developers.
• Collaborating with the cross-functional team on developing Jinja2 templates and standards for router deployments and update documentation accordingly.
• Providing training and support to junior engineers and internal organizations.
• Acting as an escalation point to resolve provider connectivity issues

Do what you love To be successful in this role you will:

• Have an experience in managing and troubleshooting Juniper & Cisco Routers and Switches
• Have working knowledge of Linux/Unix systems and Python programming language.
• Demonstrate hands-on BGP experience with a large service provider organization.
• Display solid experience in IP network design and routing architectures.
• Be a highly organized self-starter who is comfortable working both with cross-functional teams.
