Why will you enjoy this new opportunity VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF), a VMware offering in exponential growth mode, is a hybrid cloud infrastructure platform to run modern workloads, from mission-critical workflows to containerized apps, in the private cloud, public cloud, and at the edge. VCF integrates compute, storage, networking, security, and cloud management services, including support for modern composable hardware, to create a consistent, and dynamically configurable, infrastructure. In the solution test engineering team, we consider ourselves to be the first customer. This means that we anticipate problems customers will experience before they experience them, and we do this through writing comprehensive end to end test cases. We utilize automation to build the test environments and execute the test cases. In addition to testing functionality we also have the opportunity to thinkcreatively, andcraft the product features and behavior to create a better user experience for the customer. Success in the Role: Within your first 6 months You will be onboarding to your new role, assisted by an onboarding buddy and mentored by tech leads. You will be expected to learn the VMware Cloud Foundation solution functionality, the tools, use cases and some areas of ownership for the team. You will be part of the VCF Solution Test Engineering team, owning specific customers use cases, assisted by your peers from the team, on qualification through automation. After 6 months+ Establishing a relationship of trust and leadership with the team, and becoming an influential voice in the success of the team You will be responsible for writing comprehensive end to end test cases, deliver test automation code, execute tests, and help in driving improvements to our automation coverage and tools You will work closely with the Engineers in developing and improving overall testing approach and strategy You will cordinate not only within the system and solution test teams, but across the development organization to ensure a feature is tested from the functional, scale, system, and performance perspectives You will pursue broad problemsets, andtrusted to implement well-engineered solutions. What type of work will you be doing As part of the VCF Solution Test Engineering team, you will: Design and maintain test design specification document based on requirements Design, implement, execute tests and track test deliverables to product release schedule Write high quality test code to execute complex tests on a distributed system Work in a multi-functional style, developing relationships with external teams and working across teams to achieve results Develops automation with product delivery and quality in mind Strong coding skills (Python or Java, Python preferred) Strong experience with Linux and Windows based environment Knowledge of VMware vSphere or understanding of virtualization (compute and network) preferred. Good working knowledge of web applications, data warehouses and RESTful API-based testing platform. Strong (daily) Experience with build and delivery systems such as Jenkins, Git, Apt, Docker, etc..
