Position at Mindshare

Mindshare is an agency of GroupM, world\'s largest media investment company and are a part of WPP. In fact, we are responsible for one in every three ads you see globally. We are currently looking for a Principal Partner- The Exchange to join us. In this role, you will be responsible for bringing in business and market insights for the largest FMCG brand of India. You will need to have a good managerial skill sets, strategic bent of mind, excellent communication and presentation skills, collaborative mindsets (internal and external), ability to break down business models of key competitors through existing data (media data, shareholder reports, business analyst reports etc.) and set up a gold standard mechanism where insights are shared out to relevant stakeholders (internal + external).

You will be the key custodian for bringing in competitive insights for senior management team at the client\'s end. In this role, you will need to understand client business, challenges, and opportunities to craft recommendations to drive business/ brand / media KPIs.

In this role, your goals will be:
In three months:
  • Establish leadership stance among key stakeholders both on client and agency side(basis previous experience establish what can you bring on the table)
  • Translate the client\'s needs into clear direction for Mindshare and GroupM resources working on the account
  • Become completely familiar with the client\'s organizational structure, overall business model, marketing calendar and the needs of key stakeholders
  • Understand the Mindshare way of working and are able to navigate through the verticals
In six months:
  • Foster strong client relationships across the client portfolio for self and have a strong understanding of the client\'s key business requirements (at a category/segment level)
  • To be recognized as their trusted advisor, execute and deliver competitive insights (media and business) for the biggest competitors
  • Identify opportunity and collaborate with internal team / potential partners to deliver the best possible business solution for each client.
  • Demonstrated the ability to guide and coach other teams, helping them improve their strategic thinking skills and knowledge of reading/ decoding data sets across different data sources (financial results, analyst reports etc)
In 12 months:
  • Set up a mechanism to share the best work across Mindshare global and Group M India.
  • Build client satisfaction by soliciting critical feedback
What your day job looks like at Mindshare:
  • Continuously analyse reports which gives a view of FMCG trends, market changes and competitive intelligence.
  • Basis various media and business reports, ability to anticipate competitive actions quarter on quarter.
  • Acts as a client visionary by bringing a highly valued perspective to the client based on a deep understanding of their business, issues and opportunities. Should be able to lead strategic conversations on Media and business that drives business outcomes
  • Collaborate with different teams to turn insights into actions for the business
  • Ensure timely team appraisals and clear development goals for team members; identify and follow through on appropriate training and career development for the team
What you\'ll bring:

  • Show a depth of understanding of the industry, business, brands and consumers. Ability to dial up their servicing skills with senior management stakeholders.

Minimum qualifications:
  • Minimum 12 years+ total work experience in media business consultancy, market research/analytics or business analyst, of which at least 3-4 years have been spent working on media/communications planning related business. FMCG experience (client / agency) will be a definitive added advantage
