Summary

The role of an Manager, Software Testing will work in an Agile/Scrum software development team specializing in healthcare solutions. The candidate will lead a team of Manual/Automation Testers under the Agile/SCRUM framework to support the Software Development roadmap of the products within the portfolio.

Working within the budget assigned by the Senior Manager for Engineering, the role must ensure all of the roadmap obligations (sustaining and NPD) of the team are discharged to the required quality levels based on acceptance criteria of Business stakeholders. The role will include talent development and direct line management of the team.

The Manager, Software Testing will also provide technical expertise to assist product owners, management, marketing and external stakeholders in determining engineering feasibility and cost effectiveness for new and existing products.

The role includes the management of the team building and maintaining test scripts using an automation test tool including TDD/BDD techniques.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Work closely with Developers, Product Owner and other stakeholders throughout the full software development lifecycle and be involved in the continuous improvement of our software

Uphold and enforce the software testing processes

Identify and implement improvements to product testing processes and tools

Responsible for the quality and consistency of all deliverables from the team

Utilize Agile best practices and maintain an awareness of industry trends

Report KPIs to Senior Management

Line Management / Talent Development:

Mentoring team members in testing principles and testing strategies

Carrying out monthly A.C.E check-ins for team members

Recruitment

Organise/Prioritise own workload to optimize productivity and achieve targets

Be very thorough in your approach to testing and able to quickly understand complex requirements

Capturing test metrics in every test phase and reporting status to the leads

Qualifications

B.E/B. Tech in Computer Science / Electronics & Communication / Electrical or related field

Education and/or Experience

a. Must have experience/skills:

Experience of managing a testing team

14+ years experience of testing large and complex software applications

Full knowledge of typical Development Life Cycles

Experience of working within an Agile/Scrum development environment

The ability to effectively communicate in a clear, positive and professional manner to all levels from customers and peers to director level

The ability to explain technical solutions clearly

Good organisational skills

Ability to work well as part of a team

b. Desirable experience/skills:

Knowledge of the healthcare sector, including software products designed for clinical use

Experience of JIRA, Confluence, GIT and Jenkins

Experience of building and executing database queries (SQL)

Some exposure to PHP for basic debugging

ISEB/ISTQB Certificate in Software Testing
