Position Summary: We are looking for a Software Engineer to join our Deployment Automation team within our Platform and Data Services organization. Your job will be to help developers be developers, by providing services and tools that allow our internal engineers to build and ship high-quality software. The Team: Our Foundational Platform zone strives to make product development simple and efficient while making production reliable and visible.The Deployment Automation team oversees deploying our core, production code to thousands of servers in multiple data centers on a regular basis. This position gives a tremendous opportunity to see infrastructure at scale. Our fully automated deployment solution is industry standard, and constantly improving.Previous experience in automating deployments is not required, though systems experience is highly preferred. Job Responsibilities: Produce accurate, unambiguous technical design specifications to the appropriate detail. Coordinate and troubleshoot complex technical issues until resolution. Act as the subject matter expert for an area of assignment Identify and reduce manual work through automation by applying a code-first mentality. Participate in scrum teams following practices outlined by the team. Advise and train members of the team to maximize overall productivity and effectiveness of the team. Proactively identify and proposes new, alternative technology to create scalable implementations and achieve results. Understand and follow engineering conventions, architectures, and best practices. Typical Qualifications: Ideally 3+ years of software engineering experience with significant product development expertise Bachelor\'s Degree or equivalent experience Knowledge of any modern programming languages such as Python, Java, and JavaScript/jQuery Strong foundation in cloud services such as AWS Good knowledge and experience in IaC tools like Terraform or AWS Cloud Formation. Strong Knowledge of Unix/Linux Ability to write code that is technically sound, performant, scalable, and readable.
