Android Developer (Member of Technical Staff)

Workspace One Content is an enterprise app used by millions of users to view, edit, annotate their enterprise content. The Content application is a critical application for our customers who span industries like airlines, law enforcement and banking \xe2\x80\x93 to ensure that they can access enterprise content easily and securely.

We are constantly looking to improve the Content management experience for every user of our application. We are passionate about delivering high quality and a highly secure product that keeps pace with the changes in Android platform. You will work on a product that users use throughout their day, as they check for important corporate documents and improve their productivity. You will work with a highly motivated and dynamic team around 10 people and report into a Manager/Senior Manager

You will have the opportunity to participate in all phases of the software development process.

Position Responsibilities

You will take ownership of the quality, user experience, and security of the Content app. Every member of the team is responsible for delivering a best-in-class product that users love. Design, build, and test product features and components, while working with our security and UX teams to ensure that Content is both secure and delightful to use. You will participate in code reviews and design reviews for building a robust and scalable product that does not require constant rework.

You are expected to help maintain and improve our automated test suite and CI pipeline. We are strong believers in the agile development process and endeavour to continuously improve our product and automation plays a big role in enabling this. In this role, you will be involved in coordinating work across teams and architects. This involves UI/UX, Security and Architecture teams. You will establish networks outside your own area of expertise.

You will be working with highly skilled senior engineers and architects who will always be there for guiding or mentoring whenever required. You will also an active role in addressing and troubleshooting critical product issues. Our product is critical to our customers and working closely with our global support teams is an important part of the job.

Position Requirements

• Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s, master\xe2\x80\x99s or PhD from an accredited university in Computer Science or related field.

• Strong knowledge of Android SDK and different versions of Android.
• Familiarity with RESTful APIs to connect Android applications to back-end services.
• Strong knowledge of Android UI design principles, Material design guidelines, patterns, and best practices.
• Highly proficient in object-oriented methodologies, design patterns, data structures, algorithms and quality coding skills, excellent debugging skills.
• Experience working in Git, Stash, Jira and other productivity tools.

Good to Have

• Experience with offline storage, threading, and performance tuning.
• Familiarity with cloud message APIs and push notifications.
• Knowledge of the open-source Android components and the libraries available for common tasks.
• Experience in building and debugging network driven apps is highly valued. Knowledge of various content providers like One-Drive, Sharepoint, NFS is a definite advantage. Familiarity with Kotlin is helpful.
• Familiarity with DevOps will be helpful.
• Excellent command over the English language - verbal and written
• Work experience in an energizing environment, following agile practices. Successfully handled multiple, high priority projects and tasks.

• Proficient organizational skills with the ability to lead challenging demands
