Job Title: Medical Director
Location: Ranchi, Jharkhand
Reports to: Chief Executive
Key Responsibilities
Ensure the medical centre uses correct protocols and runs in an effective and appropriate manner taking utmost care of patient requirements within the applicable framework.
Ensure smooth administration of all medical, non-medical, administrative requirements of the medical centre.
Interact with clinical heads to discuss problems in patient care and design solutions.
Ensure that the hospital always has adequate physician coverage and backup coverage to cover for vacations, sick leave and other leaves of absence.
Use QA/QI techniques to maintain and continuously improve the quality of care and hospital safety.
Work with the nursing and medical team to ensure the checklists and protocols are up to date and as efficient as possible.
Always maintain strict patient confidentiality.
Responsible for implementing hospital/centre policies amongst various medical units.
Assist in formulation of hospital policy, particularly concerning medical services.
Coordinate with other medical centres and ensure that best practices are shared as well as cross referral of patients is handled efficiently.
Identify and groom high potential employees ensuring best possible talent is available at the medical centre.
Recruit for all manpower requirements as per processes and ensure that the staff is trained and up to date in skills and competencies.
Ensure all equipment as well as consumables are correctly stocked and maintained, and the centre is running at optimum.
Ensure appropriate budgeting, financial control and quality for the medical centre.
Attend hospital meetings and conferences.
Investigate complaints regarding medical care and personnel, and take suitable corrective action.
Participate in the health facility accreditation process.
Assist in the design or improvement of systems to prevent, address and report medical errors. Ensure appropriate quality standards are used.
Initiate and encourage research in oncology and run the centre as a centre for excellence in oncology.
Participate in all mandatory teaching, training, and research programs of the hospital.
Participate in appropriate continuing Professional Development activities to maintain licensure and keep knowledge and skill up to date.
Ensure the medical centre follows all legal and statutory requirements as per the laws.
