Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Head of Mechanical Engineering to lead and oversee all mechanical engineering activities within our organization. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong leadership, technical expertise, and project management skills to ensure successful design, development, and maintenance of mechanical systems and equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership & Management:
Lead and manage the mechanical engineering team, including engineers, designers, and technicians.
Set objectives, delegate tasks, and monitor performance.
Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Engineering & Technical Oversight:
Oversee the design, analysis, and development of mechanical systems, machines, tools, and components.
Ensure compliance with applicable industry standards, codes, and safety regulations.
Review and approve technical drawings, specifications, and engineering documentation.
Project Management:
Lead mechanical aspects of engineering projects from concept to completion.
Manage budgets, schedules, and resource allocation.
Coordinate cross-functional teams including electrical, civil, and automation departments.
R&D and Innovation:
Drive research and development initiatives for new products or process improvements.
Evaluate emerging technologies and implement them where beneficial.
Maintenance & Operations (for manufacturing/plant roles):
Provide technical leadership in maintenance, troubleshooting, and reliability engineering.
Improve mechanical system uptime and reduce downtime.
Vendor and Stakeholder Interaction:
Collaborate with suppliers, contractors, and consultants to ensure quality and timely delivery of components/services.
Support procurement by evaluating technical specifications and vendor qualifications.
Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (required)
Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field (preferred)
Experience:
10+ years of experience in mechanical engineering, with at least 3-5 years in a leadership role.
Proven experience in [e.g., product design, manufacturing, HVAC, plant maintenance - customize as needed].
Skills:
Strong leadership and team management capabilities.
Excellent knowledge of CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks, CATIA).
Proficiency in engineering analysis tools (e.g., FEA, CFD).
Strong understanding of materials, manufacturing processes, and mechanical design principles.
Knowledge of relevant standards (ASME, ISO, API, etc.)
Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
