Job Description

A Mechanical Foreman supervises mechanical teams to install, maintain, and repair machinery and systems, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and according to project specifications. Key responsibilities include leading and directing mechanical staff, performing technical inspections, resolving issues, managing safety protocols, coordinating schedules, reviewing technical drawings, and maintaining equipment records.
Key Responsibilities
Team Supervision:
Lead and guide a team of mechanics and technicians, assigning tasks, providing direction, and ensuring efficient workflow.
Safety & Quality:
Enforce safety regulations, conduct safety briefings, and ensure all mechanical work adheres to industry standards and quality specifications.
Project Oversight:
Oversee the installation, maintenance, and repair of mechanical equipment and systems on construction or industrial sites.
Technical Expertise:
Read and interpret technical drawings, troubleshoot mechanical problems, and conduct inspections to ensure equipment is in good working condition.
Resource Management:
Monitor and manage materials, order necessary spare parts, and ensure tools and equipment are used effectively and carefully.
Coordination:
Collaborate with site managers, engineers, and other trade foremen to ensure smooth project progression.
Documentation:
Prepare and review progress reports, maintain accurate records of maintenance and repair activities, and monitor inventory.
Skills and Qualifications
Leadership:
Strong leadership and team management skills to effectively guide and motivate the mechanical crew.
Technical Knowledge:
In-depth knowledge of mechanical systems, equipment, and machinery.
Problem-Solving:
Excellent ability to identify, analyze, and resolve technical and operational issues.

Organization:

Education/Experience:
Proven experience in mechanical work, often requiring trades qualifications or a diploma in mechanical engineering.
