On one of your upcoming projects, we are in the process of establishing ourselves as Engineer-of-Record (EoR) to facilitate expansion initiatives, covering Engineering, Procurement and Construction of areas, systems, packages, commodities, and equipment. To successfully execute this challenging project, Bechtel India will require the best talent, future leaders, and key SMEs. The position offers ample opportunity to 'make a difference' and to be an active part of the decision-making process that leads to enhancements in best practices, across the project execution life cycle. Mechanical Engineers Reporting and Working Relationships: a)reports to the Senior Mechanical Engineer. b)works in close coordination with other Mechanical Engineers, Senior Mechanical Engineers and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) in other offices, nominated for project execution activities. c)receives guidance and direction from the Senior Mechanical Engineers while interacting with the Designers on aspects related to Process Flow Diagrams and Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams. d)have working relationship and coordination with all other disciplines and all other entities within the Project execution team to ensure cross-functional alignment. Essential Duties (Scope): This role will help in the origination and development of critical project deliverables like Design Criteria, Design calculations (example, flow and pressure-drop calculations for system distribution and collection mains), Data sheets, Project specifications, Material and Service Requisitions (MRs and SRs), Technical Bid Evaluations (TBE), System Descriptions, Contract Package Scope Dictionaries, Line Lists, Valve Lists, and any other Study / Report required during project execution activities for Mechanical Engineering discipline. The person shall engage with a cross-discipline and cross-functional team of Senior Engineers, Engineers and Designers / 3D-Modelers, SMEs including Project Engineers, Owner representatives, Construction representatives and other stakeholders in other functions like Quality, ES&H, Procurement and Project Controls. The key objectives for this role are to: a)Complete, on behalf of the Senior Mechanical Engineer, the deliverables (as explained above) forselected and prioritized Mechanical equipment and packages. b) Work with the Senior Mechanical Engineer to assist in providing technical inputs and Mechanical engineering requirements for other commodity design and engineering activities, e.g. structural steel, concrete, piping, electrical equipment and instrumentation. c) Work with the other discipline engineers and functional representatives to assist the Senior Mechanical Engineer in getting timely design inputs towards the design and development of P&IDs and PFDs MRs and SRs, TBE etc. d)Work with Vendors / Sub-contractors to review their data and information for completeness and correctness. e)Participate in training sessions related to use of new tools and applications. Basic Qualifications: a)7 to 10 years Project or functional experience in the EPC industry, especially related to Oil, Gas and Chemicals, or Mining and metals Business units, or in Process plants as part of Infrastructure projects etc. b)Ability to understand and put in practice common engineering, procurement and construction work processes, supply chain and other constructions methods and materials including usage of engineering applications to produce deliverables. c) Strong, proven experience within the Mechanical engineering discipline for design and engineering practices, equipment data definition, procurement, construction, handover processes and related activities pertaining to Fire Protection systems, and equipment. This includes, but is not limited to, direct/indirect exposure and detail engineering experience with the following types of equipment and commodities: .Fire water tank with associated pumping systems .Diesel engine driven Fire pump .Jockey pump .Hydrants .Foam water system .Piping and Valves .Sprinklers and hoses .Fire extinguishers d)Basic understanding of the information lifecycle of project data - how information is exchanged between functions/disciplines and ownership of data transitions throughout the life of a project including an understanding of Who the owner of trusted data is at any point in a project. e) Naturally curious and strong desire to solve problems. Innovative mind and willingness to learn and master new concepts, systems, processes, and tools. f)Intuitive ability to analyze and integrate data to solve analytical problems. g)Clear communication of complex methods in layman's terms. h)Ability to think out of the box with questioning attitude. i) Ability to interact and communicate effectively and precisely with other team members in other offices, including other discipline engineers and SMEs. j) For grade 24 position: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university as well as a minimum of 7 years of relevant work experience in the EPC industry. Preferred Requirements: a)Good communication and presentation skills. b)Construction experience (job site experience) will be a plus. c)Having worked in more than one Function/Business unit will be a plus. d)Design thinking and Innovative thought-process.
