Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Shift Incharge for our Steel Melting Shop (SMS). The ideal candidate will be responsible for supervising electrical maintenance, troubleshooting, and ensuring uninterrupted electrical support during shift operations in the SMS unit, including induction and arc furnaces, cranes, and auxiliaries.
Key Responsibilities:
? Shift Supervision & Operations
Supervise and monitor all electrical systems and equipment during the shift.
Ensure smooth operation of furnaces, cranes, transformers, EOT cranes, and LT/HT panels.
Coordinate with production and mechanical teams for seamless shift functioning.
?? Maintenance & Troubleshooting
Handle breakdowns and perform preventive and corrective maintenance of electrical systems.
Ensure quick fault diagnosis and resolution to minimize downtime.
Maintain health of electrical panels, drives (VFDs), MCCs, and PLC systems.
? Documentation & Compliance
Maintain shift logbooks, breakdown reports, and daily checklists.
Ensure compliance with safety procedures, electrical standards, and audit requirements.
Report critical issues to the Electrical Head for timely intervention.
? Team & Safety Management
Guide and support electricians and helpers during the shift.
Ensure safety protocols are followed during electrical work and switching operations.
Participate in root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualification & Experience:
Education: Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Electrical Engineering.
Experience: 5-8 years in steel plant electrical maintenance, especially SMS operations.
