Innovate to solve the world\'s most important challenges The Advanced Mechanical Design Engineer shall manage all aspects of product & component chemical substance content compliance. This person is a key team member to drive regulatory compliance and is responsible for collaborating with the organization to identify actions required to maintain compliance and minimize risk for production and/or supply chain disruption. As such, the Advanced Mechanical Design Engineer - PS must possess technical skills and demonstrate the business acumen. Primary Responsibilities and Duties Responsible for product environmental compliance data acquisition through multiple sources and management of chemical content of materials as applied to products Manage the supplier compliance outreach programs for Product compliance regulations (e.g., REACH, RoHS, Cal Prop 65, TSCA, POPs, WEEE, Batteries, Packaging, PFAS, Conflict Minerals etc.) Interact with business functions and deploy tools & systems for PS activities involving products, bills of materials, purchased parts and suppliers Support management of compliance due to regulatory changes on legacy products and materials used in the business Responsible for the vaulting, management and control of compliance data received using Honeywell standard tools Able to provide overview of the compliance status of materials used within the business Interface with external regulatory systems - e.g., Reporting to SCIP database, IMDS, AD-DSL, etc. Support product design e.g., BOM Scrub for NPI, NPE, etc. and to facilitate compliance with Declaration of Conformity Coordinate with Business functions to close customer PS enquiries and agreed compliance management system (Internal / External) through interaction with customer care teams Monitor the future landscape and developments in chemical substance management (Emerging Regulations) Integrate and support the SBG Product Stewardship Compliance Management Operating System Champion optimization of processes and drive automation proposal implementation to reduce cycle time HTSIND2022Basic Qualifications Masters Degree in Science (e.g. Chemistry, Environmental Science or any Science Discipline) or Engineering Degree Minimum of 5-6 years of experience in Product Stewardship or Sustainability portfolio Applicable experience in environmental product compliance, material science, polymer science or related discipline Knowledgeable with Global Environmental - Product Compliance regulations, particularly REACh & RoHS Good understandability on material chemical composition sources such as Safety data sheets (SDS / MSDS), Standard Specifications, Material info repositories & databases Sound knowledge on part & assembly drawings, its interpretation and should be able to identify & capture info pertaining to materials and processes used in construction of a given part or assembly Adept at quickly gaining an understanding of multiple data inputs, intuitively assimilating seemingly disparate information, and providing clear, data-driven decisions Make decisions based on detailed analysis, presenting recommendation to team and driving actions to improve compliance details Computer proficiency including MS Office applications and ability to manage and manipulate data in spreadsheets and other platforms Additional Skills Knowledge on Green Building Certifications, LEED is preferable Product and regulatory knowledge on Electrical Electronic Equipment in Buildings is preferable Compliance module knowledge (SAP / Teamcenter) is an added advantage Demonstrated interpersonal skills to effectively interact with individuals of all disciplines and levels within and across the organization Proactive to find out actions needed for continuous improvement Strong written and oral communication skills, particularly in cross-functional collaboration and facilitation
