The role within Credit and Fraud Risk (CFR) Operational Excellence (OE) team is part of American Express\' first line of defense and is responsible for leading the development and implementation of programs which manage operational risk to enable sustainable growth and best-in-class customer experience while maintaining an effective and efficient control environment. The team is also responsible for comprehensive implementation of the Operational Risk Management framework adopted by the company and consisting of several core components including governance, forward looking risk assessment, business and environment internal control factors, reporting and monitoring across CFR globally. In addition, there is an increased focus on ensuring comprehensive control coverage by analyzing data to assess impact and issue root cause. The CFR OE team has a global remit with teams in New York, Phoenix, and Gurgaon. This role will be a critical part of the CFR OE team located in Gurgaon. Minimum Qualifications: Advanced degree (e.g., MS, PhD, or MBA) in a quantitative field such as Econometrics, Statistics, Mathematics, Operations Research, Engineering, or Computer Science Credit/Fraud risk management experience and understanding of credit life-cycle Strong knowledge of risk management systems Ability to drive project deliverables to achieve business results Ability to work effectively in a team environment Strong communication skills, both verbal and written Strong leadership qualities to effectively manage a team of 3-4 high performing individuals Ability to learn quickly and work independently with sophisticated, unstructured initiatives Basic knowledge of SAS/SQL/Cornerstone Preferred Qualifications: Operational Risk knowledge and/or background is a plus Knowledge of Amex systems such as WCC/Monocle/DAC etc. is a plus We back our colleagues and their loved ones with benefits and programs that support their holistic well-being.
