Job Description










Job Summary


Overall responsibility for managing legal and compliance matters in the India and South East Asia (providing quality legal services in a diverse field of legal practice across a number of complex jurisdictions. The incumbent will ensure the business is being conducted in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations as well with relevant company policies. This includes contract development, negotiation and management, counselling and advising the country/BU on consumer, competition, labour and other commercial matters, conducting litigation, leading critical initiatives and projects relating the countries within the Area and continually improving the services provided to the Business Units and the Company over all. The position as in charge of all corporate and company law related activities including the management of statutory and administrative work.

Roles & Responsibilities


  • Manage and advise on all legal issues within the markets, including unfair competition law, anti-trust law, corporate law, labor law, administrative law, food law, labelling, trademark, copyright and advertising or promotional matters and activities; Court arbitration proceedings; contracts; plant, production and environmental issues; anti- bribery matters; and sanctions issues.
  • Develop and review contracts and other legal documents such as joint venture, agency, distribution, sales, lease, purchase, procurement, logistics and new media agreements. Lead and/or support negotiations of all types of agreements.
  • Educate and communicate legislative and other key legal changes affecting the business, with a view to mitigating threats and creating opportunities and conduct trainings in relevant areas of law.
  • Effectively participate and contribute in considering and accomplishing the Legal Department\'s objectives in realizing the company\xe2\x80\x99s strategic business targets. Establish open and professional relationships between the Legal Department and the functional heads based upon strong delivery, full participation in the wider business agenda.
  • Develop and manage an effective external counsel network.
  • Develop and manage external counsel budgets for the Legal Department.


Work experience requirement


Minimum 7 to 10 years of experience comprising of at least 5 years as served in the legal department in large, reputed organisation and preferably around 3 years as a practicing Advocate or as an Associate in a reputed Law Firm. Experience in financing facility agreements

Qualification


Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s /Master\xe2\x80\x99s Degree in law from reputed University
