Manager STEM

Position: Manager- ME STEM Projects
Functional Area: Program (Mission Education)
Location: New Delhi
Experience: (5- 8 Years)
Salary: 50,000/- to 60,000/-
About Smile Foundation: Smile Foundation is a non-governmental organization based in New Delhi, India. It was established in 2002 and benefitting over 15,00,000 underprivileged children, youth, women and their families every year, through 400 live welfare projects on subjects such as education, healthcare, youth employability and women empowerment, across 25 states of India. Adopting a life cycle approach to development, Smile Foundation focuses its interventions on children, their families and the community. Accountabilities:

  • Implementation of STEM related activities under specific projects which includes planning & delivery, related procurements, training of the implementing team, etc.
  • Achievement of the project’s objectives
  • Performance management & reporting
Duties and Responsibilities Functional
  • Work with the National Manager to ensure the strategic project goals are delivered in a timely and effective manner
  • Maintain relationships with a network of key external stakeholders relevant to the execution of the project objectives
  • Responsible for regular periodic planning and reporting of the assigned projects
  • Carry out administrative duties e.g. event management, monitoring and evaluation and any other tasks as per project requirments
  • Maintain knowledge of current affairs relating to the field of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics
  • To facilitate the on-field activities through School Mentors in innovative and engaging manner
  • Guide School mentors in taking up session as per the project requirement and tracking the students’ performance through mentors.
  • Develop rapport with the Mission Education Centres/Government schools for successful project ation.
Management
  • Practice integrated working across teams and geography
  • Develop and maintain project management approaches which facilitate open, effective and timely communication
  • To build the capacities of the implementing teams and monitor their plans and reports
Finance
  • Manage the project related expenses including local budget implementation, procurements, etc.
  • Effective and efficient management of resources in accordance with Smile Foundation’s financial procedures and local governance regulations
Organisational responsibilities
  • Work in cooperation with project teams, Smile team and external resources to pursue project objectives and wider organisational goals, including those relating to brand, communications and resource management.
  • Actively participate and support the organisation to ensure managing resources (financial, staff and IT) efficiently and effectively by improvement of systems, reporting and compliance.
  • Provide Inputs in STEM related future projects
  • The role holder will from time to time be required to undertake any other duties that are within the scope of this role
  • The post holder will be required to travel to provide support or participate in Smile Foundation’s activities as and when required
Skills and Experience (Essential)
  • Experienced and highly motivated individual, with a proven track record of managing STEM based projects to deliver specific outcomes
  • Experience in the design and delivery of impactful projects that have achieved change
  • Team player with excellent project management and co-ordination skills and ability to develop and maintain good working relationships across internal departments and teams
  • Strong communicator, and able to constructively engage external and internal stakeholders, to develop and deliver project solutions
  • Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills, including written and spoken English
  • Experience of creating and managing budgets
  • Works well under pressure of deadlines
  • Desirable
  • Knowledge of issues and happenings in the field of education especially STEM
  • Awareness of global and regional social, economic, political and environmental issues relevant to education
Qualifications
  • Post-graduation in Science or Engineering graduate preferably, electrical, electronic or computer science from Reputed college
  • Prev. experience in STEM related projects (min 3 years)
  • Keen interest in STEM related activities.
  • Knows basic of programming and coding.
