As a Sales and Use Tax Manager , you\'ll work alongside an integrated team of seasoned, well-known CPAs and industry leaders. How you\'ll spend your time: Review and finalize internal work papers for sales & use tax returns in various states on a monthly/quarterly/annual basis and process returns for payment; Review of registrations for clients with various state agencies; Researching and resolving inquiries from tax jurisdictions and clients. Being highly responsive to clients and various government tax agencies regarding notices and requests; Remaining current on new tax legislation and tax accounting rules. Identify, assess, and document the tax implications of any such changes and ensure compliance with all state and local regulations; Review client invoices for proper assessment of sales tax and self-assessed use tax where required; Correspondence with our US team and with clients to ensure correct sales tax is being charged on invoices; Review and provide tax controversy support, including leading responses to tax audits; Assist clients with all state and local tax issues including notice research and resolution; Manage multiple sales and use tax deadlines and clients expectations. The kinds of people we want to talk to have many of the following: CPA is preferred. 5+ years of experience in sales/use tax compliance in public accounting, Knowledge of and understanding of Wayfair, nexus, sourcing, and apportionment. Excellent analytical, technical, and tax accounting/technology skills 3+ years of experience managing a team of professionals; Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills; Be able to multi-task in a deadline driven environment; Highly motivated and proactive, with a commitment to delivering agreed results; Strong communication and interpersonal skills, both written and oral, with supervisors, other employees and outside agencies; Highly proactive, self-driven, confident in the ability to be client facing and can independently problem solve with accuracy; Familiarity with Vertex/Avalara and high-level payroll tax knowledge is highly desired.
