Function Description: With a focus on digitization, innovation, and analytics, the Marketing Analytics, Products & Data Science Solution (MAPDS) team creates central, scalable platforms and customer experiences to help markets across all of these priorities. Charter is to drive scale for the business, and accelerate innovation for both immediate impact as well as long-term transformation of our business. A unique aspect of MAPDSis the integration of diverse skills across all of its remit. MAPDShas a very broad range of responsibilities, resulting in a broad range of initiatives around the world. Strategic Insights and Analytics team sits within the Global Merchant and Network Services The purpose of the role is to provide data driven insights that inform short-term merchant strategies through consultative analytics for global market(s). This role is responsible for end-to-end execution of the project engagement from problem definition, data analysis/interpretation to develop the storyline with the insights/recommendations. Candidate is required to create strategic insights by quickly understanding new data presented in front of them and making decisions based on logic, business understanding and data techniques. Purpose of the Role: Driving merchant engagement by generating bespoke actionable insights for AXP top merchants globally, while keeping a strong focus on opportunities to drive merchant value through scale. Responsibilities: Drive consultative & strategic analytical projects for merchants across the globe operating in Travel, Retail & Everyday Spend industries Proactively drive in-house strategic initiatives to further merchant engagement and American Express brand value Leverage the power of closed loop through Amex network to make intelligent and relevant insights Work with partners located across the globe spread across multiple business units Stay current in their field and up to date with latest business trends, data science, business statistics and algorithms Manage a team of 2-3 people for driving the different engagements Critical Factors to Success Business Outcomes: Translate unstructured requests into analytical strategies and convert the available information into actionable insights Ability to manage multiple requests with a quick turn-around Envision the bigger problem that the partners are looking at and structure possible what if scenarios Provide multiple solutions based on timeline and data availability Leadership Outcomes: Put enterprise thinking first, connect the role\'s agenda to enterprise priorities and balance the needs of customers, partners, colleagues & shareholders.
