Manager - Fraud Risk is a key part of the Fraud Risk Management team, a function set up by Maersk to assist and advise its businesses in managing the risk of fraud through various prevention and detection methodologies, as deemed necessary.

With this larger scope of the business, comes various risks, key among them being the risk of Fraud. Towards this, Maersk has recently set up a Fraud Risk Management division focused on advising and assisting the various business units in its Group to minimise and manage the risk of Fraud.
As part of the Fraud Risk Management team, every day is an exciting one with new challenges coming your way. Maersk gives you a real-life opportunity to see what it means when it comes to handling the various facets of fraud risk management viz. Prevention and Detection of frauds and work on them. As a Manager \xe2\x80\x93 Fraud Risk, you are likely to be involved in both facets of fraud risk management. This would entail, among others:

  • Participate in and contribute to building the repository of various opportunities for fraud prevention and detection
  • Apply your subject matter expertise to advise and assist management and business teams in identifying and assessing the risk of frauds applicable to them, followed by recommending and assisting in mitigating the risks identified.
  • Analyse outcomes of fraud investigations concluded to conduct root cause analysis and work with the management and other stakeholders to mitigate the risks identified.
  • Follow up with the local / global management and closely track the actions and action plans for closure of Fraud related issues
  • Maintain dashboards & quarterly communications to provide visibility to the local and global management
  • Prepare and maintain fraud risk registers basis through various sources including investigations, root cause redressals, business conversations, industry analysis among others to assist the business in arriving at a comprehensive view of the fraud risks applicable to them as well as helping them mitigate the risks as feasible.
  • Facilitate fraud vulnerability assessments in the relevant business areas where needed or requested to help identify the fraud risks and work with the management and other stakeholders to mitigate the risks identified.
  • Co-ordinate with the Management & GRC (Governance Risk Controls) teams to identify the impact /need for introduction of controls in respective areas/processes
  • Develop effective working relationships with senior business management to continuously monitor fraud related issues, ensure an understanding of control weaknesses, recommend control improvements, and create an awareness in resolving such issues.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of relevant regulations and law enforcement issues, fraud, criminal behaviour, and Group policies
  • Utilize the knowledge to provide direction and counsel to business management on the handling of complex issues and to facilitate issue resolution.
  • Contribute to quality improvement and the improvement of fraud risk management practices and policies.
  • Identify opportunities to detect frauds on a proactive basis, including predictive opportunities
  • Supervise / guide the building of dashboards to enable identification of frauds on a proactive basis in liaison with the analytics team in-house as well as external
  • Report investigable events by assessing exceptions identified through various fraud analytics\xe2\x80\x99 exercises
