JOB DESCRIPTION - ENGINEERING MANAGER.

Leads the NPI and Process engineering organization. Is fully responsible for defining, developing and executing the NPI Processes and setting up process parameters for new products and sustainance. Identify the training requirements to support all NPI and process engineering activities. Ensures the products are transferred to mass production in a smooth manner.

• Supervise, equip and coach NPI Engineers to ensure consistency in execution and performance to meet NPI Goals.
• Provides technical guidance to the team on NPI activities to meet customer requirements.
• Proto, NPI and Pilot build planning and execution to meet Quality & delivery expectations of customer.
• Setup the process parameters for all manufacturing parameters for producing products. This includes, Solderpaste Printing, SMT, Reflow, Selective wave, wave soldering, manual soldering, bonding, conformal coating and so on.
• Responsible for program development for machines (SMT, SPI, AOI, Selective, Routing)
• Reviews the RFQs, plans the NRE requirements and estimates the manufacturing cost requirements to build competitive quotes for new RFQs.
• Analyze the training needs for NPI and Process Teams and works with HR to implement the same.
• Drive performance through the set KRAs / KPIs and meet the goals set by Management.
• Carry out Performance Appraisal for Engineering team. Identifies strengths and weakness. Develop plans to address shortcomings so as to meet defined department goals.
• Develop necessary documents and procedures to ensure a smooth NPI Execution and Process engineering, transfer of skill sets and knowledge to Business Unit when product is transferred.
• Work with Training department to help develop the technical training requirement for all technical personnel based on the sites technology roadmap.
• Ensure best practices, continuous improvements and lessons learnt are shared among Engineers.

• Engage with customer/BD/external bodies to identify technology requirements and workout strategies to develop and deploy technical capabilities, infrastrucutre and skill set for new business.
• Hands on Knowledge in Electronics Assembly Process with Box build. Should have good knowledge on the DFM, FMEA, Control Plan, SPC, APQP process and FAI process.
• Aerospace and Defense manufacturing background is preferred.
• Six sigma certifications (green belt) will be an added advantage.
• Hands on experience in Mechanical parts development and assembly of large systems like LRUs, Cabinets and system integration will be an added advantage.
