Data Engineer – Job description
As a Migration Lead you will be responsible for owning the solution strategy for application migration from legacy SAS platform to newer open source technology like Bigdata and Cloud.
Role and Responsibilities:

• 
  Prepare Project plan, staffing requirement and working closely with leaders of other team to prepare project roadmap.
• Identify data gaps and recommend strategy based on business requirements and prioritization.
• Create/propose solutions for enterprise wide deployment with considerations around scale and costs
• Address issues/risks/dependencies in solution recommendations
• Publish best practices and architecture patterns aligning to functional needs
• Transform Business problems to technical/data strategy solution.
• Developing and presenting plans and presentation to leadership and technical team.
• Collaborate and establish communication with business owners and IT stakeholders.

Candidate Profile:
Required Qualification and Skills:

• Excellent in Databases and Data Warehousing concepts.
• Should have more than 3 years of relevant experience.
• Be hands-on in development, code reviews, unit testing and Implementation procedures.
• Expertise in optimizing, refining and performance tuning applications, script and processes.
• Must have good experience on Hive/SQL.
• Must have good experience on Python, should have worked on python libraries such as Pandas, Numpy etc.
• Specialty with SQL databases and database concepts.
• Familiarity with Advanced Big Data Concepts like Map Reduce, Hadoop, Sqoop, Spark frameworks.
• Proficiency with fundamental Data prep languages such as Pyspark, Spark SQL and Python.
• Advanced Spark concepts like memory management and performance optimization will be add on.
