As a Senior Data Scientist at PwC India, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of the
pharmaceutical and healthcare sectors by leveraging data and analytics. We are looking for a talented
individual with 5-8 years of hands-on experience (3 years with a PhD) in the pharma and/or healthcare
industry to drive data-driven decision-making and innovation.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Data Analysis and Modeling: Lead data analysis efforts to extract meaningful insights from
complex healthcare and pharmaceutical data. Develop predictive and prescriptive models to
drive informed decision-making.
2. Predictive Modeling: Develop advanced predictive models to support pharmaceutical research
and development. Utilize machine learning and statistical techniques to optimize drug discovery,
patient outcomes, and healthcare operations.
3. Regulatory Compliance: Stay updated on the latest regulatory guidelines and industry standards
in the pharmaceutical sector. Ensure compliance with data handling, privacy, and reporting
requirements.
4. Market Access and Commercialization: Analyze market data, payer information, and patient
demographics to assist pharmaceutical companies in product pricing, market access strategy,
and commercialization planning.
5. Real-World Evidence (RWE): Utilize real-world data sources to generate valuable RWE for drug
effectiveness, patient outcomes, and healthcare utilization, with a focus on improving patient
care.
6. Healthcare Analytics: Analyze electronic health records, claims data, and other healthcare
information to uncover patterns and insights that can lead to better patient care and cost-
efficiency.
7. Collaboration: Collaborate closely with clients to understand their unique challenges and
objectives. Translate data insights into actionable strategies and provide expert guidance.
8. Data Visualization: Create compelling data visualizations and dashboards to effectively
communicate findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
9. Research and Innovation: Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and data
science best practices. Drive innovation and thought leadership within the team.
Qualifications: \xef\x82\xb7
BS/MS/PhD Degree in Engineering, Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or
any quantitative field. \xef\x82\xb7
Years of Experience in the pharmaceutical and/or healthcare sector: 3 years with a PhD, 5 Years
with an MS/M.Sc./MTech, or 8 with a 4-year BS/BTech degree. \xef\x82\xb7
A strong understanding of industry-specific data and challenges. \xef\x82\xb7 Proficiency in data analysis tools and programming languages such as Python or R and their
corresponding distributed frameworks, such as PySpark. \xef\x82\xb7
Experience with statistical modeling, machine learning and deep learning \xef\x82\xb7
Experience in cloud platforms like Azure, AWS or GCP. \xef\x82\xb7
Familiarity with healthcare/pharma data sources and databases (e.g., electronic health records,
clinical trial data). \xef\x82\xb7
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically. \xef\x82\xb7
Excellent communication skills to convey complex findings to non-technical stakeholders. \xef\x82\xb7
Prior experience with drug discovery or clinical trial optimization is a plus. \xef\x82\xb7
