Inviting applications for the role of Manager, Merchandising Analytics
We are seeking a talented and experienced Merchandising Analytics Specialist with strong data science skills to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for leading advanced analytics initiatives to drive merchandising decisions, optimize inventory management, and maximize sales and profitability. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of retail merchandising principles and a proven track record of applying data science techniques to solve complex business problems.
Responsibilities
  • Lead the development and execution of advanced analytics projects to support merchandising decisions and drive sales and profitability.
  • Utilize machine learning algorithms and predictive modeling techniques to forecast demand, optimize pricing and promotions, and identify growth opportunities.
  • Analyze sales, inventory, and customer data to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities for merchandising optimization.
  • Develop and maintain dashboards and reports to track key performance indicators (KPIs) and measure the effectiveness of merchandising strategies.
  • Conduct category and product-level analysis to identify top-performing and underperforming items and provide recommendations for assortment planning and SKU rationalization.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including merchandising, marketing, and finance, to develop and implement data-driven strategies to drive sales and profitability.
  • Work closely with vendors and suppliers to gather data and insights to inform assortment planning, pricing, and promotion strategies.
  • Conduct competitive analysis to benchmark performance, identify market trends, and uncover opportunities for differentiation.
  • Develop and maintain predictive models for demand forecasting, inventory replenishment, and markdown optimization.
  • Communicate findings and recommendations to stakeholders in a clear and compelling manner, through presentations, reports, and dashboards.
Qualifications we seek in you!
Minimum Qualifications
  • Master\xe2\x80\x99s in Business Administration, Statistics, Economics, or a related field.

Preferred Qualifications/ Skills
  • Proven experience in retail analytics, with a focus on merchandising, inventory management, or related areas.
  • Strong proficiency in data analysis tools and techniques (e.g., Python, R, SQL) for manipulating and analyzing large datasets.
  • Experience with machine learning libraries (e.g., scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch) and predictive modeling techniques.
  • Proficiency in data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) for creating dashboards and reports.
  • Deep understanding of retail merchandising principles, including assortment planning, pricing, and promotion strategies.
  • Knowledge of statistical methods and techniques for analyzing and interpreting data.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex ideas and insights to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Previous experience in a leadership or mentoring role is a plus.
