Job Description


This role\'s primary purpose is to significantly improve access of Pfizer therapies in the India Market and build Pfizer reputation by supporting the commercial teams and overseeing the strategic, operational, and governance activities of pricing actions and approvals across portfolios. As Manager - Pricing, the incumbent would be responsible for creating, getting approved, and documenting price of all new products, and market access initiatives (eg. PAP, access & affordability projects, innovative consumer offers, discounting schemes etc), monitor landscape for government direction or efforts on potential price impacts, implementation of drug prices based on the government regulations from time to time, monitoring price ceiling orders and co-ordinate with business for its implementation, exploring possibilities for price increase and collaborate with business on price changes in response to competitive actions, price increase decisions and monitoring implementation of prices and ensure to resolve issues raised by regulatory authorities. Position Responsibilities: In-market Pricing Responsible for price implementation and filings with regulatory authorities Define price structure and coordinate with Distribution/BUs ontrade margins and approve trade schemes Define price structure & new PAP and discounts schemes for new product launches Define price structure for neighbouring markets Advise and provide necessary support to business units in taking periodic price increases / changes / special rate billing. Work closely with International Pfizer Global Pricing team for price approval for Global products and global projects on affordability and market access. Actively assist the Country global health and value lead in various access functions. Support & collaborate with Business, Finance, Distribution and manufacturing functions on projects requiring pricing and market access related insights. Taking regular legitimate price increases in time Managing Government/Institutional Tender pricing Responsible for co-ordinating, managing and leading annual cost audit along with cross functional teams (PGS Finance, Manufacturing team & FR team) Support for pricing related regulatory issues Resolve issues / reply to show causes notices issued by regulatory authorities in respect to price implementation Co-ordinate with Legal and external consultants on interpretation of drug policy and regulations and in resolving show casue notices Interpret and analyze regulatory notifications and take suitable steps to implement the same. Government Relations Support Public Affairs and Legal Department in making representations to government on policy matters. Responsible for working and implementing price changes mandated by government from time to time Brief CEO/CFO and other BU Leads on price relates matters and price changes mandated by government on time to time basis Governance and Integrity Regularly monitor and audit pricing database to proactively avoid over charging and to ensure that prices for all products have been captured correctly. Ensuring Compliance to L1 policy and approved price floors, ensuring SAP price alignment with pricing system Work closely with the regulatory team to ensure that the company complies pricing related packaging and labeling requirements. Organizational Relationships: Internal: Peers in Financial function, legal & compliance team, internal regulatory team, leads for all commercial BUs and PGS (Manufacturing functions), International Pfizer Global Pricing team, Global Supply Chain team, Country global health and value lead (Access), Public Affairs team, Legal team, Country Manager, and Chief Financial Officer (Pfizer India). External : Regulatory authorities, Govt. Agencies, external pricing/legal consultants and lawyers. Financial Accountability To the extent of price increases, gross margin impact, regulatory orders, and new product approvals in time etc. Qualifications & Experience: CA / ICWA / MBA / CFA/ CS or such similar post graduation qualification 5-10 years of relevant work experience in Pricing or Business Finance function (preferably in the Pharma Industry) Experience in working for local India market pricing for pharma industry . Experience dealing with multiple internal and external stakeholders including consultants and Govt. agencies.
