Manager, Infrastructure & IT Controls Advisory, Financial Controls Team
Role profile:
The Financial Controls team is charged with the design and build of a UK SOX compliant controls framework. This includes the design and implementation of controls, testing of those controls and serving as a 2nd line of defence function for management. The team is part of the larger LSEG Finance organization, and reports to the Group Controller. This role is responsible for supporting the financial control framework for LSEG. This involves identifying the Financial Controls interfaces (automated and manual) and the IT dependent systems; performing walkthroughs to assess effectiveness of control design to mitigate risks; monitoring implementation of changes; producing control related documentation; coordinating the evaluation and remediation of control issues; supporting the quarterly control attestation process and coordinating external audit requirements. The role reports to the Senior Manager, Controls Advisory who is one of three direct reports of the Head of Financial Controls.

Key responsibilities:
Identifying the Financial interfaces across both heritage organisations, to allow the Financial Controls to rely on the data being both complete and accurate.
Identifying IT applications that the Financial Controls are dependent on and bring these into the Financial Controls Framework.
Perform control walkthroughs as part of the design effectiveness review.
Ensure that changes identified in the walkthroughs are documented, implemented, and monitored.
Establish regular communication with control and process owners to ensure that organisation, system and commercial changes are adequately reflected in the control framework.
Produce, and support the production of, control documentation.
Based on SOX methodology, evaluate the impact of control deficiencies/gaps identified through escalation from the control owners or in internal/external testing. Agree remediation and track progress to resolution.
Coordinate External Audits, ensuring access to control owners and evidence. Act as point of contact to minimise disruption on the business.
Communicate design effectiveness, control changes, deficiencies/gaps, and remediation to appropriate levels of management.
Support the quarterly controls attestation process, ensuring that control attributes are up to date and reflect previous responses.
Work with the testing team to ensure that control changes are reflected in testing scope. Review test results as part of ongoing quality assurance and to support audit findings.
Skills and experience
Required
Strong IT experience of finance, operations or controls-specific experience or a combination thereof
Familiarity with SAP Accounting and Billing applications, Oracle Financials, SalesForce.com, Snowflake, BOOMI & ETL/ELT tools (e.g Informatica & Matillion)
Understanding of SQL and other Scripting Languages & comfortability reviewing the code.
Experience working in a complex, multi-disciplinary global organisation and handling sensitive matters while demonstrating respect and cultural awareness within a multicultural workforce
Ability to understand complex issues outside their experience and expertise and facilitate resolution across multiple functions/managing across boundaries is essential
Strong oral and written communication skills with the ability to present to a wide range of people
Good command of Office applications
Preferred
Familiarity with US SOX to support control design and implementation and as a precursor to the introduction of UK SOX
Knowledge/familiarity with generally accepted accounting principles (IFRS)
University (equivalent) degree and/or ACCA (equivalent).
