Job Title:


Manager I, Quality


Years Of Experience: - 10+Years -

Minimum of 5 years' experience in Australian mortgage underwriting, with at least 2 years in a quality assurance or management role


Role and Key Responsibilities:



Responsible for ensuring the quality and accuracy of mortgage underwriting transactions within the organization.



Developing and implementing quality assurance standards, conducting audits, and identifying areas for improvement.



Develop Quality Standards:

Create and maintain comprehensive quality standards and guidelines for mortgage underwriting processes, ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements and internal policies.

Conduct Audits:

Perform regular audits of mortgage underwriting transactions to identify and assess quality issues, risks, and non-compliance.

Identify Improvement Areas:

Analyze audit findings and data to identify areas for process improvement, efficiency enhancements, and risk mitigation.

Regulatory Compliance

: Ensure all underwriting practices comply with local regulations such as National Consumer Credit Protection Act (NCCP), APRA guidelines and responsible lending obligations

Implement Corrective Actions:

Develop and implement corrective action plans to address identified quality issues and prevent recurrence.

Monitor and Report:

Track quality metrics and report on performance to management, highlighting trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement.

Train and Educate:

Provide training and education to underwriting staff on quality standards, procedures, and best practices.

Collaborate with Stakeholders:

Work closely with underwriting management, operations, risk management, and compliance to ensure alignment and effective quality management.


Key Skills and knowledge



Strong understanding of Australian mortgage underwriting guidelines, regulations, and industry best practices.

Knowledge of Australian regulatory compliance requirements, such as the NCCP, BFSA, and responsible lending obligations

Experience in an Australian mortgage banking or financial services environment

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Proficiency in using quality management tools and software.


Educational qualification:



Bachelor's degree in business administration, finance, or a related field.
