Inviting applications for the role of Manager, Linux Admin
This role lies with Genpact IT -Compute Management Division. You will be responsible for supporting corporate Compute Linux operations 24X7 for IT. You will be working actively on the operational issues along with internal / external partners to automate things and help recover the systems failure (proactive/reactive). You will have tremendous opportunities learn in one of the biggest Compute groups in the industry.
You should have relevant experience in Linux and Cloud

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Supporting operating system versions for various flavors of Linux (RHEL/Oracle/Ubuntu).
  • Server Hardening process
  • Good Knowledge of Linux Boot Process and Troubleshooting booting issues using iLO console.
  • Good experience in Linux Kernel Rebuild activity
  • Performing Linux OS Patching Activity and Reboot Activity on Red hat Linux Servers.
  • Backup and Restore Management in Linux
  • Troubleshooting on Network related issues in Linux
  • Excellent in Logical Volume Management in Linux
  • Handling server Performance issues in Linux
  • Experience of NFS.
  • Configuring Network Setup, Routing and NIC Bonding in Linux.
  • Linux Cluster, PCS Cluster
  • Work with Data Centre Team If any Console Related Issues.
  • Logging case with vendors like HP, REDHAT for their services.
  • Process oriented and Hands-On Cloud experience on AWS or Azure.
  • Working on Linux servers hosted on AWS and Azure.
  • Creation of templates from VMs and creation of VMs from templates.
  • Working in Change Management (CM) and Incident Management (IM) team to resolve production outages and to provide turnaround on SLA Basis
  • Experience in creating and maintaining scripts to provision/de-provision instances required for workloads.
  • Maintain organizational security compliances like passwords, key rotation policies
  • Should have experience of handling various Audit and Compliance activities like HIPPA, PCI, SOX etc.
  • Create & maintain various types of alerts that monitor systems health and report any issues to Sys Ops team to resolve and/or escalate to the right teams
  • Collaborate and work with DEV team to deploy newer version patches/fixes for vulnerabilities for cloud servers
  • Migrating existing on-premises servers to cloud.
  • Monitor availability and performance


KEY CERTIFICATIONS:
  • Must have Industry certifications like RCSA, RCSE or alternatives
  • Good to have any cloud certifications like AWS Sys Ops Admin associate, Azure Admin Associate.
  • Awareness of Cloud security best practices
  • Well versed with ITIL terminology for Incident, Change, Problem Management.


ADDITIONAL DESIRED TECHNOLOGY EXPERIENCE:
  • Good command over Linux shell command
  • Scripting knowledge of at least one of the following:
o JSON
o Python
o Perl
ADDITIONAL SKILLS\REQUIREMENTS (Competencies):
  • Provide a single point of contact for the reporting and tracking of issues
  • Maintain status on all open issues.
  • Interact consistently with end users in a professional, efficient, and service-oriented manner.
  • Have a clear understanding of cloud deployment models
  • Should have very good troubleshooting and analytical skills.
  • Work with Third Party Providers to assist in problem resolution.
  • Resolve issues within established time frames.
  • Perform root cause analysis in accordance with the Procedures Manual.
  • Participate in root cause analysis if needed.
  • Produce RCA report.
  • Can go for upgrade of devices on requirement & provide plan to customer.
  • Look for escalations and resolve it in the given time frame.
  • Ability to perform problem analysis and develop resolutions at both strategic and tactical levels
  • Good understanding of ITIL Process flow
  • Open to work in 24*7 rotational shifts when project demands
