The Role: Manager, ESG Data

The Team:

S&P Global is one of the leading providers of the ESG data for investors, corporates and other stakeholders. ESG creates Value for our Clients, Value to Investors in mitigating risk of long-term investments and Value to Corporates through long term financial performance. It focuses on collecting broad range of ESG data through a variety of company and governmental sources, to provide users with an in-depth, multi-faceted view into the nature and strength of a company\'s resistance to changes in ESG components, liaise with various critical stakeholders in understanding and building the content set. This data is used by investors, asset managers and in S&P Global\'s various divisions and products. The team is responsible for managing S&P Global\'s proprietary database, comprising one of the world\'s most complete datasets on corporate sustainability.

The Impact:

As a part of S&P Global\'s S1 Data team, you will be managing the Corporate Sustainability Assessment (CSA) team and the content creation of the iconic Dow Jones Sustainability Indices (DJSI) and other indices such as the S&P 500\xc2\xae ESG index. The team is responsible for managing our proprietary database, comprising one of the world\'s most complete datasets on corporate sustainability.

We are looking for an experienced and motivated individual who is passionate about sustainability and is committed to driving sustainable business practices through financial markets. Our department is project-focused and relies on our proprietary methodology and software to collect and assess corporate sustainability information. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing various key tasks related to the Corporate Sustainability Assessment, including the Team Management, KPIs, Capacity Planning etc.,

  • Partner with various stakeholders such as senior operations leadership, data stewards, product organization, and technology partners to develop robust collection tools, procedures, and processes.
  • Lead the content expansion project with a laser-focused approach to quality, timely delivery, and maintenance.
  • Build strong partnerships with the talent acquisition and business leadership to build a robust talent pipeline.
  • Identify and develop talent to support business expansion.
  • Use LEAN and automation principles to gain operational efficiency.
Responsibilities:
  • Ensure that the team meets and\\or exceeds operational targets.
  • Lead expansion projects with timely delivery of data.
  • Manage the performance review process, talent development and talent management processes of the team.
  • Effective resource management to ensure delivery of business targets.
  • Develop department goals and ensure they are aligned with the overall business strategy.
  • Contributes to the achievement of personal, team and enterprise/site level objectives.
  • Promote lean and automation culture with the team and acts as a catalyst for idea generation.
  • Work with various site-level talent acquisition and business partners to manage hiring pipeline.
  • Create a healthy work environment that leads to trust, open communication and cohesive team effort.
What we are looking for:
  • ESG experience is mandatory
  • Proficiency in Automation tools
  • Manager or above with ten or more years of experience.
  • Proven track record of building process\\teams and an ability to act independently.
  • Proven record of implementing process improvements and proficient in using LEAN tools.
  • Financial and general business acumen.
  • Strong planning and organizational skills, able to prioritize.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, fluent in English.
  • Effective cross-cultural and cross-domain communication and coordination.
Grade - 10 (relevant for internal applicants only)
