Job Description


The Role Responsibilities

Strategy

  • Enable creation of standard practices and strategy for data quality governance in the Function.
  • Support the management of the Data Domain Owner\xe2\x80\x99s responsibilities in BAU.
  • Own the data documentation artefacts and administer the process to maintain the documentation in BAU for Enterprise Risk Business.
Business
  • Data documentation artefacts (lineage, dictionaries and allied artefacts in BAU).
  • Lead the analysis and requirements ownership to finalize the tooling to maintain data documentation in BAU.
  • Metadata management: creation of data dictionaries, data lineage and allied data documentation.
  • Data quality management experience - defining DQ controls, establishing DQ metrics, etc.
  • Creation of best practices, solution frameworks and techniques to embed data quality management processes.
  • Support and establish the processes and techniques for maintenance of the data dictionaries, lineage and associated data artefacts in BAU.
  • Enable creation of a data governance knowledge bank and advisory function to enable improved data insights.
  • Support execution of BCBS239 obligations on DQMS in the first-line.
  • Embed usage of the metadata management tools in the Function.
  • Support data change management processes to keep data artefacts up-to-date when changes occur in the landscape.
  • SQL skills - ability to read / write SQL scripts, etc.
  • Metadata tool sets exposure: Ab Initio / Axon / etc.
Processes
  • Liaise with the wider data community and the CDO Office in establishing best practices, solution patterns and nimble data solutions.
  • Perform horizon scanning on upcoming trends in risk management, data management practices, data technologies and incorporate into ways of working.
People and Talent
  • Provide support to the Head of Data Management in attracting and retaining data management talent in the Function.
Risk Management
  • Embed compliance with data management risks, including data quality, secrecy, privacy, records management and AI ethics in the design of data solutions.
  • Ensure compliance with the risk management practices applicable for the role.
Governance
  • Support compliance with the BCBS239 obligations on DQ for the Function.
Regulatory and Business Conduct
  • Display exemplary conduct and live by the Group\xe2\x80\x99s Values and Code of Conduct.
  • Take personal responsibility for embedding the highest standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct, across Standard Chartered Bank. This includes understanding and ensuring compliance with, in letter and spirit, all applicable laws, regulations, guidelines and the Group Code of Conduct.
  • Support the [Data Management Team] to achieve the outcomes set out in the Bank\xe2\x80\x99s Conduct Principles: [Fair Outcomes for Clients; The Right Environment].
  • Effectively and collaboratively identify, escalate, mitigate and resolve risk, conduct and compliance matters.

  • DCAM, DM BOK or allied certifications
Role Specific Technical Competencies
  • Knowledge of Data Quality Management lifecycle, data management practices and principles
  • Experience in Risk and CFCC data domains, with exposure to risk concepts in Credit, Operational, Compliance and the newer non-financial risks like Reputational and Climate
  • Deep understanding of Banking and Financial Markets, including product life-cycle
  • Metadata management frameworks and tools
  • DCAM, DM BOK or allied certifications
