Function Description

\xc2\xb7 This position is part of the Global Record to Report, Intercompany Center of Excellence and the position will report into the Director \xe2\x80\x93 Inter Company Controller.

Purpose of the Role:

  • The role will be responsible for managing a subset of Intercompany service fee allocations, its\xe2\x80\x99 accounting, governance, and oversight.
  • The incumbent will specifically be responsible for managing the Technologies Chargeout across AXP and Real estate cost chargeouts
  • Intercompany transactions are complex transactions and operate in a highly regulated environment. It will be critical for this position to provide thought leadership to complex scenarios, determine an appropriate solution and drive it through to implementation.
  • Strong focus and oversight required to ensure correct application of Intercompany policy/protocol guidelines, monitoring of intercompany account balances, and reporting of key performance indicators associated with the monthly close process for intercompany transactions on a global basis.
  • The role partners strongly with Corporate Tax, Transfer Pricing, GCO, Market Controllers, LFO, and DSCOE teams and requires development of strong working relationships and communication across key business teams.
Responsibilities/ Critical Factors to Success:
  • Lead the end-to-end financial accounting process for Technology and real estate charge out models. This will include ensuring appropriate controls and governance over accounting entries and processes performed.
  • Ensure compliance with agreed SLA, internal guidelines, accounting policies/ protocols and regulations that are applicable from time to time (AXP internal, USGAAP)
  • Manage internal and external audits and other submissions to comply with regulatory/ tax requirements.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert and owner of AXP\xe2\x80\x99s Inter Company accounting and reporting.
  • Build and leverage relationships across a wide range of cross functional teams.
  • Ensure appropriate governance including monitoring, reporting & tracking at an AXP level.
  • Design and ensure delivery of MIS, analytics related to the entities/ processes managed to concern stakeholders
  • Timely submission of sub-ledger supports to reconciliation team.
  • Support/lead special projects to drive process enhancements, simplification and automation initiative.
  • Ensure process health through metrics-based governance \xe2\x80\x93 maintaining integrity of the financial statements.
  • Provide Leadership and coaching to the team of professionals and create a high performing and engaged team.
Functional Skills/Capabilities:
  • Strong technical accounting background and experience in accounting and reporting.
  • Strong internal control background and experience in improving processes from both an efficiency and control perspective.
  • Understanding of US GAAP reporting requirements
  • Ability to provide strategic thought leadership to complex scenarios, determine an appropriate solution and drive it through to implementation.
  • Results driven / ability to perform multiple tasks, work to strict deadlines and prioritize tasks.
  • Proven ability to collaborate and build relationships across multiple cross functional teams.
  • Ability to influence project teams on legal entity needs and requirements.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to resolve issues and track through to conclusion.
  • Basic understanding of AXP business lines and business models.
Academic Background:

CA/MBA with at-least 6 to 8 years of experience or B. Com with minimum 10+ years of experience of financial accounting and reporting and related controls.

Technical Skills/Capabilities:
  • Understanding of US GAAP reporting requirements
Knowledge of Platforms:
  • Oracle GL and IC
