Manager - Central Data Team (Bangalore)

The Master Data team plays a critical role in the Operations and Supply Chain of John Crane. The responsibility of the team is to create accurate and timely ERP data for both SAP & QAD. For both systems the scope of supply is Material & Vendor Masters, BOM\'s, Routes, ISP records (specifically for QAD). In addition, the team provides ongoing mass maintenance for SAP, including involvement in roll-out and upgrade projects.

Duties & Responsibilities

Personnel & HR

• Adopt & promote the Smiths Safety & Environmental culture
• Manage all personnel issue relating to the Data Team, this involves consulting with local HR & Management to ensure our processes and procedures compile with JC & Smiths best practice and procedures and comply with all Local and National laws and regulations.
• Conduct annual performance reviews, bonus awards and merit assessments.
• Devise & execute the annual training plan
• Ensure all members of the team have a Personal Development Plan
• Adopt & implement the Smiths Excellence System, which includes CI best practices
• Coach and mentor team members

Strategic

• Determine & implement the optimum team structure to deal with the total workload.
• Manage and set team objectives and KPI\'s in conjunction with the Global Manager
• Contribute to the Strategic team plan & Objectives
• Devise policies to minimize attrition

Monthly

• Create & publish monthly and YTD performance figures
• Conduct monthly team meeting
• Conduct monthly one to one TL meetings
• Support monthly Vendor Master Data presentation
• Conduct monthly presentation to Global Manager
• Represent the Data team in Project meetings & discussions with stakeholders

The Individual

• Graduate/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering / BE. Other Graduates with relevant experience can be considered
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in discreet Manufacturing/Engineering Environment with experience in SAP MM/PP or similar ERP system
• Minimum 5 years of experience in ERP material management & at least 5 years of experience of managing a team
• Relational Database with SQL knowledge desirable but not mandatory
