Job Description


The General Counsel's Organization (GCO) & Centralized Supervisory Unit (CSU) team in India, includes the legal, compliance, Supervision functions that support Ameriprise Financial and its subsidiaries. This Retail funds team in GCO works on the disclosure documents and regulatory reporting for mutual funds across North America.
We are seeking to identify a qualified candidate for a position in GCO for the retail funds team, intended to work with the paralegals and attorneys in the US on prospectus filings and other regulatory filings. The person will be responsible for the working on fund disclosure documents and regulatory filings related to mutual funds along with any other functions assigned as part of the requirements to meet the larger goal.

Responsibilities

Liaising with internal and external teams to ensure that Prospectus documentation is made available and that stakeholders review and approve the document
Drafting prospectus wording and inputting into relevant documents/document management systems to produce prospectuses and other offering documentation as applicable
Providing legal support on global asset management business initiatives on an as needed basis, including non-fund disclosure documents, various contracts, local registrations and governance.
To work with multiple portfolio managers/ fund managers to prepare various reports related to the funds
To play a multi-dimensional role which involves coordinating with various departments and stakeholders
Required Qualifications

Graduation in Finance or any equivalent degree.
6 - 10 years' experience in the Mutual fund industry with strong subject matter knowledge of mutual funds.
Strong attention to detail.
Ability to successfully manage several ongoing assignments and collaborate with the US colleagues directly.
Ability to work independently and proactively, to multi-task and demonstrate a strong sense of urgency.
Ability to work on definitive timelines.
Dedicated team player who can thrive in a global, dynamic and team-oriented environment.
Excellent English language skills - both written & spoken.
Excellent interpersonal skills as the role involves regular communication with counterparts within and outside the US GCO.
Moderate to high-level experience in Microsoft Office products (specifically Word and Excel).
