Today, NHPL has close to 9000 employees consisting of Pharmacists, scientists, doctors, chemists, statisticians, marketers, and top-drawer finance professionals working for in all functions ranging from research and development of drugs in multiple geographies to driving their commercialization all based out of Hyderabad.
This is a senior executive leadership role responsible for overseeing the financial operations and strategy. This role should/ can manage a team of finance professionals and work closely with senior leaders to drive financial performance and growth. The Group Head/Lead, Finance will be responsible for developing and executing financial strategies, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and managing relationships with stakeholders. This role requires a deep understanding of financial principles, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to work collaboratively across multiple teams in a matrix environment. This role is based out of Hyderabad, and is expected to support Novartis global entities by way of one or more of the following:
Your responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Lead Planning (Budget, Latest Forecast, StratPlan) and Reporting for specific business units with strong focus on quality and accuracy of reported numbers. Develop and execute financial strategies for the group of companies, aligned with overall business goals and objectives. Manage a team of finance professionals, providing guidance and coaching as needed. Oversee financial planning, analysis, and reporting processes to ensure accurate and timely delivery of financial information to senior leadership.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal controls. Develop and maintain relationships with other senior leaders across the group to ensure financial strategies are integrated with overall business strategies.Partner with cross-functional teams to provide financial insights and support for strategic initiatives. Monitor and analyze financial data to identify trends, opportunities, and risks, and present findings to senior leadership.
  • Manage carve-in & carve-out activities, including due diligence and integration of financial systems and processes. Provide meaningful decision for various operational projects. Drive good accounting practices, guaranteeing adherence to Novartis Accounting Manual (NAM). Enable and productivity & offshoring/outsourcing Initiatives for specific business units
  • Lead KPI Tracking/Benchmarking in business units on the given guidance from Global units. Drive Financial Accounting & Reporting activities in one of the following areas: Record to Report, Order to Cash, Procure to Pay, Financial Controls, Compliance and Risk management activities
  • Lead teams on business process, perform risk assessment, walkthroughs, conducting tests of design and operating effectiveness of controls. Provide financial views and outlook to the respective work and business areas
  • Deliver productivity targets across the team and ensure optimum resource utilization across teams. Identify opportunities for elimination of non-value-added reports and promote for maximum use of automated tools and standardized reporting
  • Proactively lead discussions and alignment with the stakeholders & local finance team members on deliverables to ensure high quality and consistency. Build strong network and engagement with global stakeholders and internal customers
  • Continue supporting AI driven disruption to Planning process. Design, implement and executes a strong quality control and governance framework. Show proactiveness & capabilities to challenge status quo & be adaptive for new & efficient tool implementation. Build a highly professional and efficient team including strong successors. Hands on leader with clear accountabilities for operational task along with people management. Collaborative mindset with capability to understand stakeholders\' needs. Establish a continuous improvement mind-set within the team. Provides support and guidance to other finance colleagues
Minimum requirements

What you\'ll bring to the role:
  • Chartered Accountant / CPA / Post Graduate university Degree in Finance or MBA, or Equivalent
  • Business English (written and spoken)
  • Good Presentation and Communication Skills
  • Good academic track record
  • 10+ years of prior working experience
  • 5+ years of People Management experience is preferred
