This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for Lead Test Automation Engineers in India.
In this role, you will lead and mentor a team of automation engineers to design, develop, and maintain test automation frameworks for complex software applications. You will work across the full project lifecycle, collaborating closely with solution architects, application designers, and business stakeholders to ensure high-quality software releases. This position offers a unique opportunity to influence the automation strategy, implement best practices, and optimize CI/CD pipelines while working in a dynamic, agile environment. You will leverage your expertise in Java, API automation, BDD frameworks, and cloud technologies to deliver scalable and efficient testing solutions. Accountabilities

• Lead the design, development, and execution of automated test frameworks for web and API applications.
• Write efficient, testable, and maintainable automation code in Java, integrating with CI/CD pipelines, particularly GitLab.
• Guide and mentor a team of automation engineers, ensuring adherence to best practices and quality standards.
• Collaborate with Agile teams to gather requirements, validate functionality, and provide timely feedback on software releases.
• Implement test automation strategies, including BDD frameworks like Cucumber or Karate, and cross-browser testing with Playwright or Selenium.
• Work with cloud environments (AWS/Azure) and integrate security, authentication, and authorization in automated tests.
• Contribute to troubleshooting, SQL validation, and data-driven testing to ensure application reliability and performance.

Requirements

• Strong expertise in Java programming and test automation frameworks.
• Hands-on experience with API automation, Web UI automation, and BDD frameworks (Cucumber, Karate).
• Knowledge of version control tools (Git) and CI/CD platforms (Jenkins, GitLab).
• Familiarity with cloud technologies (AWS or Azure) and Agile development methodologies.
• Strong SQL and database knowledge, capable of integrating web applications with databases.
• Understanding of security principles, authentication, and authorization for web applications.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to work directly with end users.
• Nice-to-have: Experience designing automation frameworks, cloud testing strategies, event-driven architectures (Kafka, Webhooks), and test-driven development practices; certifications such as ISTQB or CSTE.
