Job Title: Staff Technical Writer

Locations: Bangalore

Reports to: Manager, Technical Publications

As a member of Conga Technical Publications team, you\'ll create and maintain well-written product documentation for technical and non-technical audiences, from a variety of technical sources (written and verbal). You\'ll gain a deep understanding of the product inside and out, work closely with the team that creates it and understands customers\' goals. You\'ll also be responsible for documenting our API and associated use cases. You\'ll negotiate and execute review, editing and publishing schedules for assigned projects collaborating with cross-functional departments.

If it is not documented, it is not in the product. We treat documentation as part of the official release criteria and give it utmost importance during the software development lifecycle. You will be part of a geographically dispersed team of technical writers who believe in playing a team sport. A rock-solid dependable Staff Technical Writer should be consistent, meticulous and demonstrate a bias towards action.

Are you the person we\'re looking for?

Related Experience: You have 8+ years of experience writing and publishing technical documentation, especially complex, interconnected sets of documents and a proven record of tracking down and verifying information from subject matter experts to deliver content on agreed-upon deadlines.

Tools and associated craft: You should have experience with industry-standard tools for content creation, management and publishing, including XML editors and content management applications, DITA. Moreover, should have experience with Confluence and its administrative activities (such as reports, macros and content publishing). Exposure to documenting APIs, SDKs and other development-driven sources as well as familiarity with the concepts and practice of structured writing, single-sourcing and minimalist writing is required.

Investigative attitude: With your proven work experience, you have developed sound investigative skills. You apply them to understand the audience\'s needs and provide the information most important to them.

Natural collaborator. Not only Creating content for developers, administrators, business users, casual users and internal Conga audiences, but also collaborating effectively with teams across the company, such as Product Management, Release Management, Developers, QA, Professional Services, Sales Engineering and Tech Support. Translating verbal and written technical requirements from these stakeholders into documentation and assisting engineers, UX designers and others in drafting user-facing content, such as UI text and error messages.

Education: Bachelor\'s degree in engineering or equivalent.
