Role Overview: Monitoring & DevOps Support Engineer within the Global SDLC Engineering group. Role/Principal Accountabilities: - Administer and support the production environment for our Monitoring & DevOps tool stack. - End to end administration and support of monitoring tools - SMARTS & SevOne - Engage closely with peers in other regions to provide operational support - user requests / production incidents / changes / releases etc. - Coordinate with counterparts in engineering teams to help facilitate changes, product enhancements / fixes / projects to help achieve strategic objectives - Mentor fellow support staff on technical issues, standards and procedures - Help identify and flag operational issues / risks and involve the engineering teams to address the same. - Assist in managing continuous improvement of operational practices. Skillset: - 6-8 years\' experience with monitoring tools. Experience in instrumentation of monitoring,configuring alerts,event correlation/de-duplication criteria/alert routing - Knowledge of Network monitoring tools - SMARTS and SevOne in particular and other Network management tools e.g. HPNA etc. - Familiarity with Layer 1/2/3 Network devices and OEMs, technologies and protocols. - Supporting a medium/large scale prod env - Hands-on linux experience with basic troubleshooting and intermediate administrative concept - Performing UAT and Releases to Production - Strong analytical skills and production support processes Knowledge: - Administering SMARTS and SevOne and exposure to Network Layer 1/2/3 devices and OEMs, fair understanding of networking concepts, technologies and protocols. - Monitoring Tools SME - Grafana/Prometheus/Cortex/Loki/Splunk/DataDog/AppDynamics/Tivoli/HP Operations Manager - DevOps Tools - GitLab / Jenkins / Ansible / Nexus or equivalent (at least some) - Scripting - Shell/Python/Perl/Ruby/Java (any one preferred) - Exposure to DB Platforms-Sybse/MySQL/Oracle/MSSQL and cloud services - Operating system fundamentals,diagnostics,tuning and monitoring of IO,Networks,CPU and Memory - Familiarity on infrastructure technologies - Middleware(ActiveMQ/Solace/EMS/Tibco),Web Servers,Load Balancers,Directory Services - Knowledge of ITIL
