POSITION SUMMARY: Located at the Gurgaon office, leads the team performing tasks related to the market research with respect to the ferrous and non-ferrous metals, other key raw materials, package equipment and bulks. Reviews third party analyst reports and collates the project specific information. Also coordinates with suppliers and the existing projects regularly to understand the real time impact of market trends. Publishes market watch reports and alerts to internal stakeholders. JOB DIMENSIONS: A. Supervision Received Reports to and receives operational direction from the corporate procurement operations manager. B. Supervision Exercised Will provide supervision, training and guidance to Market Watch Specialists C. Contacts Maintains working relationships with project Supply Chain personnel and project discipline personnel in order to perform assigned duties. Maintains working relationships with bidders and suppliers involved with the performance of assigned tasks. RESPONSIBILITIES: Analyses the information and data from third party analysts, commodity indexes and summarizes it in graphical or any other manner for easy understanding by supply chain personnel Compiles monthly/quarterly market watch reports to capture detailed market trends from multiple sources including suppliers, third party analysts, commodity indexes, project inputs, etc. Stays abreast with the current geopolitical situations around the world that may have the potential to influence supply chain for projects in different geographical regions. Performs research to understand market trends for base metals, steel and a range of other commodities Tracks and analyses trends in various metal and energy indexes like LME, MEPS, etc. Tracks and analyses spot and forward foreign currency exchange rates Reviews updates from multiple third-party analysts on the market forecasts with respect to a range of commodities Reviews Project SCAS to understands project package equipment and bulks purchased in different business units and performs market research to understand any immediate or long-term impact based on the ongoing market trends Communicates with project supply chain personnel and understands issues at the pre and post award stage, that are impacting the overall price, lead times and have the potential to delay the construction at site. Communicates with global suppliers to understand their shop loads, lead times, key sub-suppliers & their locations, means of transport, labor issues, supply chain disruptions and current challenges being faced by these suppliers in execution of their work Maintains key/critical supplier relationships with supplier's senior personnel to ensure getting information on their execution challenges in a timely manner. Responsible for seamless data integrity and records management from multiple sources Internal A Bachelor's degree in Engineering from a reputed University. Post-graduate specialization in Supply Chain Management preferred.8+ years of relevant industry experience in a reputed company with excellent communication skills. ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS: Highly skilled in both oral and written communication Excellent analytical and presentation skills Well versed with bidder pre-qualification process, bidder lists, negotiation plans, bid solicitations, bid analysis, award recommendations and commitments, including aspects of purchase order formation and administration. Understanding of different phases of procurement and capability to understand the supplier schedules and deficiencies. Knowledge of the legal and commercial aspects of procurement.
